I've really liked Taura just from what I've read with her while threading as a Nightshifter, which is pretty impressive given the limited scope of a Nightshift thread! I've also taken up stalking here here and there since that first Kayako date, and I quite like her liveliness and energy, and the ability to enter serious kick-ass mode when necessary. Also very much liked her interaction with Tylor both during and post-last NS's Kayako-ing! :D

Sorry I have no crit except that we should thread more >:E /shot, but will continue stalking in future. |D

More in detail, I still and will forever love the way you handle Sai: you play him with the ROOT-bred emotional confusion without robbing him of vulnerability and do the best thing ever with how he does feel emotions, just in a perplexed way -- but without resorting to that cliche'd "WILL SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THIS IS DERP" sort of reaction to it. You keep him funny but don't make him a joke. I love his depth and the range of emotional reactions he has despite having been trained to not have emotional reactions. ;_; And I consistently want to take him to my bosom and cradle him to a semi-consensual sleep. /what

I've only just started threading with Heat, but I already enjoy him. :D I don't know his canon as well, so I can't speak on that level, but I enjoy his sarcasm and his fronting dudeliness. I enjoy how different his speech patterns are from Sai! And I also think Agni is adorable, but I don't know why. ♥

I also really loved that thread with Scott on the bboard, and Scott's general kind of RL-troll antics -- I find it kind of amazing that you can manage to keep up his rather reference-heavy train of thought, but it comes across well! I may even be inspired to go give the comics another try. >:

I'm not caught up on the series, but I don't think I need to be to say that your Sam is one of the most consistent character voices I've stalked read. I haven't gotten around to creeping reading his thread with Ruby, yet, but I am looking forward to finding time for it because of how much fun I find your Sam and his angst and woe, I mean his ... joyous nature and ...

... his angst and woe, and also his sarcasm. And his attempts to be the Nice Guy that sometimes work and sometimes don't. :Db

I'm behind with my stalking, but I just wanted to say that your Dean and his amazing stash of pop-culture references combined with a loaded holster of kind of grade-school, unexpectedly snicker-inducing humour was one of the major reasons I ended up marathoning SPN. AND WHY I AM RIPPING OUT MY HAIR THAT I CAN'T CATCH UP WITH IT RIGHT NOW. ;_; And that watching the show just reaffirmed how IC you were, which was a real joy. And ... yes. :Db /bad at crit part orz

Okay no seriously, Peter is fantastic fun. :') It's not often I actually laugh out loud at things I read, but reading him during his date with Kayako and shrieking at Sho made me snicker a whole lot, and stalking him since has been just as fun. I don't know the canon and damn you for making me want to brave comic books, but I really like what I've seen of him so far. In terms of crit, I think he should wear spandex more often.

Okay so this is sort of a reverse-HMD, but I guess it involves Kurt AND Logan SO IDK, now's as good a time as any to ask? :<

When we first spoke, I remember you saying that Kurt and Logan are BFF, which I totally support (since it's, y'know canon and stuff for your Logan. :|). I'm just wondering if I'm doing enough to convey this relationship/if you're just playing Logan as being really thrown by Kurt's age, because I'm not exactly feeling the connection yet. And maybe this is totally premature, but if I'm doing something that's hindering you, I definitely want to know before it becomes an issue or something. :3

One minor thing: you sometimes reply in tl;dr to thoughts the other character had -- a little bit of that is no big deal and playing with meta-info can be fun. It's not infomodding at all -- the characters are just running along parallel mental tracks. If it's intentional, no worries -- different styles are different, but it sometimes feels haphazard rather than intentional.

Well, there are two things causing a disconnect, neither of which are your fault or inherently bad:

1.) Age, yep; maybe I ought to have emphasized Logan's thoughts on that more (sometimes I forget to write out explicit thoughts akjsda), but he doesn't really buddy around with teenagers - it's just a different dynamic; he treats them like kids, so Kurt is kind of somewhere between straight up I'm-in-charge-and-I'm-gonna-tell-you-how-it-is and being considered an equal. With the exception of teenage girls (8D........) all his buds in canon are pretty well mature.

2.) [caveat: I've seen like, two episodes of Evo, WAYYYY back in the day, so I don't really know what I'm talking about wrt Evo Kurt haha.] There is or appears to be enough of a difference between Evo Kurt and 616 Kurt that, combined with the age thing, Logan wouldn't automatically equate them. Plus it's kind of like the universe tossed him his BFF but hit the reset button on everything between them (and also on Kurt in general).

THAT SAID, I mean, if Logan were the Godfather Kurt would be his consigliere by default due to past (present?) BFF-ness, na mean. If I have to explain this here clearly I could be doing a better job of depicting it in actual game threads HEH but uh yes.

OH AND 3) even though they are BFFs, their relationship in 616-canon is still pretty subtle and laid-back unless one of them really needs a morale boost. He's a pretty reserved fellow even with friends.

You know how I used to like your vK because I could read the threads and enjoy them? Well now that I've played in one of them, I really, really like vK. I loved the Guybrush/vK thread (boy, it only took me four characters to finally get a thread with you). You don't need to change a thing to be a fun threadmate- vK's intellect and low tolerance for stupidity made for a great character clash, and those sorts of interactions are gold.

Okay, this is all good to know. I seriously thought that I was doing something that was hurting their CR. ._.;

But yeah, I would say that Adult!Kurt and Evo!Kurt are definitely different. I kind of see Evo!Kurt as... Nightcrawler Lite. |D; He's in high school, he's a teenaged boy in the best place he's been in for a while, and while he still has that massive cloud of angst around him, he finds things to enjoy and be happy about. Which is (from what I've seen) kiiiiinda different. |D

I'm not sure which continuity our previous Logan came from, but he was way more buddy-buddy with Kurt, so I guess that's what made me flip a little. D: And why Kurt's joking around with him and feels somewhat comfortable calling Logan by his first name.

BUT, all this TL;DR aside, I do think you're doing a great job with him. :3 I think that the writing what he's thinking will come with time, and the more they interact, the more both of us will find some coming together point. I think it's natural to sort of have a 'feeling out' period for castmates--figuring out what works, how each of you writes, et cetera. SO YES, I think this was kind of premature for me to ask, but THE COMMENT WAS JUST SITTING THERE AND AND AND yeah. ._. ♥

Okay. *cracks knuckles* You said I could do this publicly, so here we go:

I love your perspective on Mello's personality, and you've always seemed to pull off his weird, complex way of thinking off brilliantly - his inferiority/superiority weirdness, I mean. I'm especially loving the post-MU Surlier, because his usual cockiness and elitist attitude seems like an engine trying to turn over; I get the feeling that once it manages to get kick-started, it'll be like a break in the dam, and a flood of awesomeness will ensue.

One thing I know you know you could improve on is how far you take him. Mello's a big character; the bastard blew himself up to escape the cops, and he walked right out of the building. Probably patched himself up afterward, too. I would just really love to see you go above and beyond with his antics, as I'm sure Mello would be all over any chance he saw at getting out of a place like Landel's - especially if he needed to get back to the Kira case and solve it before Near.

I also think that stems from your confidence and comfort levels; you play a good Mello, bb, and I feel like he'd be so much better and so much easier for you to play if you felt better about how well you play him. And you know that not everyone can be TL;DR; short tags are just as awesome as long ones! Someone like Mello I would honestly assume to have shorter tags, but with more packed into them - a sort of quality versus quantity idea, in a very skewed sense, which is what you've got going on here. One thing that may help, if you still want those TL;DRish tags, is to try to be a bit more observational, and let Mello analyze those observations in a natural sense. I try to do that with Matt, mostly when he's interacting with other people. Sometimes Surlier seems to get sort of caught up in his own ponderings, but shedding some light on his inner dialogue while analyzing something about the person he's talking to might help with that.

Other than those issues, he's good all around; Surlier has a nice, Melloish "voice" to him, and your prose/writing quality is always amazing. I'm excited about threading Sleepier with him, and all the trouble those boys can get into together. :D

SO having now played across from Kirk with Faith, I can definitely say that you balance out the different sides of Kirk's personality really well. He's a a frat boy, but he's also a captain, and it's nice to see glimpses of that, even when one side is dominating the other depending on the situation. His voice is solid and it reads smooth. :|b IDK THAT'S ALL I HAVE I'M SORRY. /)_(\ KIRK IS A GQMF AND SO ARE YOU.

I see what you mean, yeah. I guess one thing you could try to do was have her start thinking something and then cut it off? Like, her breaking off the thought? I try that with Harvey sometime. I can see how that would be tough, though. :(
