I'm not a murderer. Besides, even if the Head Doctor's death would benefit a lot of people, it wouldn't do much good in the long run if we don't know more about the infrastructure of the institute or whatever organizations are associated with it/control it/etc. The Head Doctor could very well be replaced by someone much worse unless we can find some way to escape beforehand. Even then, we could very well end up being dragged back to this place when someone else takes charge. The Head Doctor's death would only solve our problems if we took all of the other factors into consideration first and found ways to counter them. He is just one man, true, but with what little we know about the institute, we can't know for sure if killing him would really "save" us.
