Monster Plot Information + Poll, NS Extension, and Game Plurk!
Hey, everyone!
First of all, we're pleased to announce the start of an upcoming game-wide plot. While we don't want to spoil all the details for you, the basic gist is this: What would happen if Landel announced that several patients will turn into vicious monsters in a few days' time? What if he refused to say who it was, while several people started exhibiting strange, illness-like symptoms leading up to the impending day? Will patients pull their resources together to try to save their fellow patients? Or will someone try to take matters into their own hands by killing off anyone who poses a potential threat to the safety of everyone around them? Will those suffering from symptoms keep it to themselves (perhaps while secretly hoping they don't change into some horrifying beast later), confide in their close friends in search of solutions, or will they instead make the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the many?
As you might have guessed, there are multiple ways characters may react to such a scenario, and therefore multiple ways this scenario can play out. We encourage you guys to be creative and to approach us if you've come up with a unique way for your character to handle the situation!
The first phase of this plot involves organizing characters who would be affected by this turn of events. Basically, each player is welcome to submit characters into the poll using the following guidelines:
Characters submitted into the poll WILL exhibit symptoms that we'll announce at the start of Dayshift. A smaller group will then be randomized from this list to determine who will eventually turn into monsters, and those players will be privately notified. If you'd like your character to exhibit preliminary symptoms, but do not wish for your character to eventually turn into a monster, please place an asterisk (*) by your character's name. Furthermore, if your character is currently on hiatus or hasn't been very active, we reserve the right to not include your character in the monster randomization process.
In order to keep certain things a surprise, poll results will be screened until further notice.
Second, Nightshift will be extended for three days. This is to give us a little extra time to organize this new plot, as well as to give those on Missions a few extra days to make up for the slight delay in working out Mission details. Dayshift will now begin on Tuesday, the 28th.
Third, we've set up a game-specific plurk over at damnedmods. Watching it is completely optional. Since we have quite a few players on Plurk, we thought it would be a good idea to have a designated place for game-related announcements, rather than flooding our personal Plurks with game news. Feel free to follow this account for official Damned-related stuff! If you decide to friend us, we'll definitely friend you back.
Lastly, please welcome Sarah (
valentinite) onto our NPC Mod team! We appreciate all of our NPC Mods and are happy to have her aboard!

Question about the monstering, if this doesn't ruin it... if you were willing to turn a character into a monster, would that basically make the character an npc? Or would it be more like a NS-only thing where they're still functional during the day, etc?
