As many of you are aware, we've been discussing endgame plot details. Some of these things are still up in the air, but we were thinking the rebels at damned_city will probably tap into the patient population to try get the escape plan ball rolling. damned_radios should also hopefully provide a way for patients to organize and communicate with each other during NS.

That said, we've identified a few tentative ways patients could get involved in escape efforts. They include:

1) Disabling the Institute's security systems: This would likely involve receiving instructions from rebels on how to do so and would be ideal for characters who are good with technology.

2) Disabling Landel's ability to dampen patients' powers and abilities: This would also likely involve receiving rebel instructions and being asked to carry them out. The task would probably be ideal for characters who are familiar with the institute's layout.

3) Distributing radios from Farwell: Pretty self-explanatory. Patients who have either been to Farwell before or will go there in the future would be good for this task. However, rebels may find ways to distribute them outside of Farwell.

4) Keeping the Institute secure from outside threats: If the Institute finds itself under siege from the authorities, or monsters assault it from the side, the patients may need manpower to keep the building from falling to enemies. This task is ideal for characters with combat experience.

5) Locating alt-verse archive necessary to send people home: Another self-explanatory one. This task would probably be best for investigative types.

Keep in mind that participation would be completely optional. Characters could also join a group that's already been organized for a specific task (as long as all players are okay with it, of course). So, if you wanted to wait for whatever opportunity ICly comes up, as opposed to committing to one thing or another, that's fine too.

If you're interested, feel free to do the following poll. Please give separate answers for each character journal. In other words, do not use your personal journal, but instead complete the poll for separate characters using their separate accounts. For example, I would log in as earthling and check which options I think would be best suited for that character. Then, I would log into baniichan and once again check whatever boxes I'd be the most interested in for that character. This will help us have a better idea of who would be interested in doing what with which characters, and stay more organized when arranging future events. Also, if you have ideas for something you'd like to see done, please check the appropriate box and leave an explanation under the comments section. (Note that you are free to check more than one box per character.)

It's that time again! We're preparing for...

VISITORS.

If you want your character to get a visitor (a family/friend from their "real" life who looks/acts nearly identically to someone from their canon who isn't already at Landel's) during 3rd or 4th shift, fill out the poll below. (The visitor can also be a "rehabilitated" character who was previously at Landel's.)

The guidelines are simple:
You can only have one of your characters get visited; if you've had a particular character get visited before, you can have a different one do it this time if you want, and if you do choose to stick with the same character, you may have them visited by the same visitor as before or a different one. You may also choose for your character to get a small group of visitors, but only if the NPC mod would be able to realistically handle it; multiple characters sharing one visitor at the same time is okay too.

If this is your character's first dayshift they will not be able to get a visitor. Sorry about that!

Hello, everyone! First off, we're excited to announce that Claire has kindly completed the third floor map. However, we need help with finishing the ROOM DESCRIPTIONS before we officially unveil it. Normally this is a task reserved for NPC mods, but since our numbers are pretty small these days, we're opening our request to the general playerbase.

(Which reminds me, NPC Mod Applications are still open!!)

All right, so! Technically dayshift was supposed to have started already, but between spring break and Easter and everything else, we've all fallen a bit behind. So we wanted to offer the option for an extension!



Now, one other thing we need to take care of before DS starts is a new Doyleton location. We already brought this up once before, but we're going to open up a new store for the coming Doyleton trip, and so we'd like suggestions on what that store should be. So far we've only had one suggestion made, which was for a haberdashery, but we'd like a few more options to throw up for polling! So please reply here with any ideas you might have.

Hey, kids! Let's talk about Forced Drug Trials! Yayyy!

As fun as all this Monster Infection business has been so far, the Head Doctor knows there's a lot of untapped potential with his other patients. Consequently, he's decided to conduct some forced drug trials this Nightshift. In other words, a select number of characters will have a syringe forcibly administered to them by orderlies and nurses at the start of Dinner. The rewards and randomization guidelines will be similar to Night 57's Drug Trial, and the resulting effects will start once Nightshift begins.

What this means is we'll be opening up slots for forced drug trials this NS. The number of people randomized will likely depend on how many people sign up for a shot at this.

Please note that you are not eligible for this event if:

1. You are on hiatus.
2. One or more of your characters have transformed into monsters during the course of the current plot, or are scheduled to transform in the future.

Furthermore, your character is not eligible for this event if:

1. This is their first Dayshift.
2. They are currently signed up as a Traitor for the current arc.

If you and your characters are eligible, and you would like to participate, please submit your character's name and username in the following poll. Please note that you may only submit ONE character to the poll. This is to guarantee a chance to as many players as possible.

The poll will be open until the end of 4th shift. We will publicly post the list of selected characters in the Lounge on the first day of Dinner. Please note that if you're selected you'll be required to have a nurse administer a drug to your character at the start of Dinner in order to qualify for a pin or weapon. With the beginnings of a giant storm and a hurricane hitting the east coast today, we've had concerns from some of our players. Day Shift will be starting soon and many are worried they won't have power for a week or more.

So in lieu of these events, we want to hear from our player base if they would prefer to extend Night Shift until November 4th. If you have any specific suggestions, questions, or concerns you can leave them in this thread and we will be happy to look over them.

We've decided to go ahead and open up a poll where interested players can submit their character's name for the opportunity to turn against their fellow patients and get rewarded for it.

Once the poll closes, we'll randomize who will be approached with a bribe to instigate a witch hunt against those exhibiting the Monster Plot symptoms. The details of characters' bribes and how we'll be going about ICly organizing them will be OOCly discussed with their respective players over the course of the coming Nightshift.

With that in mind, please keep the following in mind before submitting your character's name to the poll:

1. Please read the initial Traitor Subplot informational post, and, if you haven't already, take a second to leave a comment regarding what sorts of rewards your character might be interested in.
