Hey, everyone!
First of all, we're going to extend Nightshift by 5 days. That means
Dayshift will now begin on Tuesday, July 17th. We need some extra time to organize things with other players, plus we thought some people might appreciate a little extra time to get to tonight's clue.
Second, we've made some recent
Application Updates for those who want to
enable egg on potential applications and players. 8)
Okay, now for the meat of the post:
So, we realize a lot has been going on with the Monster and Traitor plots, and that many of you have been given some choices about how to proceed with your characters. These are some questions that have consistently come up, so we're presenting a brief guide for your convenience!
1) So there's a cure for patients affected by the Monster Plot, right? That's right! If your character just has regular symptoms OR is scheduled to transform, they can find a cure. The
X-Ray Room has the latest clue. If you haven't already, be sure to check it out!
2) Is there only one method to cure characters affected by the Monster Plot? Not at all! While the cause of the symptoms and transformations is definitely tied to the clue planted in the X-Ray room, there are
multiple ways characters can try to use this information. Feel free to be creative, and
please approach us if your character has come up with a way to try to cure themselves or someone else!3) What happens if my infected character is cured?Your character will no longer suffer symptoms. If your character was selected to turn into a monster, they will also go back to normal.
In addition, this will trigger its own set of rewards, including a nifty game-wide event that players have requested to see again!
4) What happens if my infected character isn't cured? They will continue to exhibit symptoms throughout the course of the Monster plot. If your character was selected to undergo a monster transformation, then that will also play out as planned. In short, your character's options are to 1) find a cure, 2) endure the symptoms and/or wreak havoc as a monster every night, or 3) temporarily die.
5) Wait, my character can temporarily die if they're infected with Monster Plot symptoms?Yes! Of course, bear in mind that
they MUST either be killed by another patient OR a monsterized patient for it to count as a temporary death. In other words, if you don't want to permanently drop your character, do
NOT have them commit suicide, get mauled by one of the Institute's regular monsters, or stumble into a random accident!
6) What happens if my infected character gets killed by another patient or a patient-monster? Will it be treated like an arena death in the basement? If your infectected character dies, it will be a little different from how basement deaths are typically handled in that
you'll have a few unique choices of how to handle things. We can't give away all the details, but
if you're planning for your infected character to get killed, please contact the moderators ahead of time. This is to give us a heads up of what you're planning, and allows us time to make sure you have the information you need once your infected character gives up the ghost!
7) Are these deaths supposed to tie into the Traitor Plot? That's right! As of now, there are 4 traitors Landel intends to sic onto the patient population.
In order for all 4 traitors to get their promised rewards, at least 4 patients must die.EDIT: Just wanted to clarify that all the information about cures and temporary deaths apply to not only those selected to undergo monster transformations, but also characters who are dealing with regular symptoms.
And those are the major issues we thought we should cover. We hope you're as excited for the upcoming plot opportunities as we are!
If you have any questions or comments about this stuff or anything else, feel free to comment here, and we'll get back to you as possible!
Thanks!
