Hey, guys! I wanted to give an update on the shift change. Basically, before we do it we want to organize a few mod things that need to be taken care of before dinner happens, since some patients will be receiving things that will move along the plot! Claire and I have been trying to coordinate our schedules and suffice to say that it hasn't worked out so far (what is real life?) but we're hoping to get to it soon.

That pushes things back, obviously, but hopefully that won't be a huge deal since I know people are still trying to do visitor threads and all that. Sorry for the delay, though! Just give us a little more time. ♥

So!

Radios. More specifically, toy radios.

Just like the ad and the current toy store post suggest, there are some free gifts available. A small cardboard box of plastic radios sit near the woman who is handing out the free gifts. Each one is marked with a unique three digit serial number. Several pre-recorded songs can play from its tinny little speakers, including Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and This Land Is Your Land.

She'll kindly urge anyone who passes her to take one, it doesn't matter whether they're an adult or a child. To patients, however, she'll give a friendly wink and add, "These double as walkie-talkies, you know. Just switch the dial to the number printed on the bottom of another radio. Oh, but you'll need batteries to operate them. Just be sure to ask your nurses before you try them out when you go back tonight, okay?"

Of course, any staff member who gets a look at the plastic device will assume it doesn't have any real radio capabilities, and they'll politely humor the patients.

As you may have guessed, these radios will grant people access to [community profile] damned_radios. Since we're low on NPC mods, though, we're going to ask that people either handle their own interaction with the radio woman, or simply summarize what happened when they received the radio.

Also, one last note: evening shift will be moved back 1 day. That means evening shift won't begin until Thursday night.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you!

Just a quite note that we're extending the shift change by one day, so Nightshift will start on Saturday! This is to give people more time to plot for NS and also because all the mods were busy.

You have more time to vote in the M-U/SC poll as a result!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that dayshift will be starting on January 5th! The plot post will go up tomorrow. Hope you all had a nice holiday!

Hey, everyone! So, as some of you might be aware, I've been having some pretty nasty health issues in addition to starting a full-time temp job, and Claire has had a lot on her plate between school and having to run the house. Furthermore, there's something plot-related we'd like to see more characters get a hold of, we know several players are probably trying to get an Oktoberfest entry done, and Frankenstorm is brewing out near the east coast on top of that!

In short, there seems to be a lot going on, both for us and other players. That's why we're going to extend Nightshift until October 31st.

However, we realize this might be kind of a drag for people who are waiting for DS to start. Consequently, we'll be putting up a special meme-type post for folks to participate in if they'd like! Keep an eye out for it.

Thanks for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi, just dropping a line that Claire (Luke, Goku, Ippo and Kotetsu) and I won't be around this weekend since we're out of town. Since we won't get back until Sunday night, we're going to go ahead and extend dinner by an extra day as well.

This affects Luke, Goku, Ippo, and Kotetsu (Claire), and Claude and Barnaby (Jansen).

Thanks!

Hey everyone!

We're a bit late putting up the plot post, and we still have a few details to work out with some players, so we're extending Nightshift by two more days. This should give everyone enough time to get some of their Dayshift plans in order, among other things. Dayshift will now begin on July 19th.

Thanks for your patience!

Hey, everyone!

First of all, we're going to extend Nightshift by 5 days. That means Dayshift will now begin on Tuesday, July 17th. We need some extra time to organize things with other players, plus we thought some people might appreciate a little extra time to get to tonight's clue.

Second, we've made some recent Application Updates for those who want to enable egg on potential applications and players. 8)

Okay, now for the meat of the post:

So, we realize a lot has been going on with the Monster and Traitor plots, and that many of you have been given some choices about how to proceed with your characters. These are some questions that have consistently come up, so we're presenting a brief guide for your convenience!

1) So there's a cure for patients affected by the Monster Plot, right?

That's right! If your character just has regular symptoms OR is scheduled to transform, they can find a cure. The X-Ray Room has the latest clue. If you haven't already, be sure to check it out!

2) Is there only one method to cure characters affected by the Monster Plot?

Not at all! While the cause of the symptoms and transformations is definitely tied to the clue planted in the X-Ray room, there are multiple ways characters can try to use this information. Feel free to be creative, and please approach us if your character has come up with a way to try to cure themselves or someone else!

3) What happens if my infected character is cured?

Your character will no longer suffer symptoms. If your character was selected to turn into a monster, they will also go back to normal. In addition, this will trigger its own set of rewards, including a nifty game-wide event that players have requested to see again!

4) What happens if my infected character isn't cured?

They will continue to exhibit symptoms throughout the course of the Monster plot. If your character was selected to undergo a monster transformation, then that will also play out as planned. In short, your character's options are to 1) find a cure, 2) endure the symptoms and/or wreak havoc as a monster every night, or 3) temporarily die.

5) Wait, my character can temporarily die if they're infected with Monster Plot symptoms?

Yes! Of course, bear in mind that they MUST either be killed by another patient OR a monsterized patient for it to count as a temporary death. In other words, if you don't want to permanently drop your character, do NOT have them commit suicide, get mauled by one of the Institute's regular monsters, or stumble into a random accident!

6) What happens if my infected character gets killed by another patient or a patient-monster? Will it be treated like an arena death in the basement?

If your infectected character dies, it will be a little different from how basement deaths are typically handled in that you'll have a few unique choices of how to handle things. We can't give away all the details, but if you're planning for your infected character to get killed, please contact the moderators ahead of time. This is to give us a heads up of what you're planning, and allows us time to make sure you have the information you need once your infected character gives up the ghost!

7) Are these deaths supposed to tie into the Traitor Plot?

That's right! As of now, there are 4 traitors Landel intends to sic onto the patient population. In order for all 4 traitors to get their promised rewards, at least 4 patients must die.

EDIT: Just wanted to clarify that all the information about cures and temporary deaths apply to not only those selected to undergo monster transformations, but also characters who are dealing with regular symptoms.

And those are the major issues we thought we should cover. We hope you're as excited for the upcoming plot opportunities as we are!

If you have any questions or comments about this stuff or anything else, feel free to comment here, and we'll get back to you as possible!

Thanks!

Hi, everyone! Once again, we're putting up a poll for Special Counseling and M-U slots. If you're interested in volunteering your character for either of these, feel free to submit their names to one of the following polls.

We've lifted most of the prior restrictions, allowing players and characters to receive SC and M-U as many times as they wish. This should allow for easier canon updates for those who want to do something like that for one of their characters.

However, you cannot submit a character if:

a) Your character has been in the game for less than four months.

b) Your character has had SC/M-U in the past six months.

And, as usual, we reserve the right to not consider someone who has been inactive lately as well. Otherwise, you should be good to go!

ONE LAST NOTE FOR ANYONE CONSIDERING M-U: Please do not vote unless you have some idea of what you want your character to go through. NPC mods have struggled in the past with players who expected them to come up with it for them. Their job is to NPC the doctor for you, and most NPC mods are happy to flesh out an idea and help with it, but you need to have at least some baseline to work off of. Consider that carefully before voting!

That said, here are the polls! Enjoy!

M-U Slots

The polls close 24 hours from now.

Also, this is a reminder that Traitor Poll closes at the end of Dinner Shift. If you're interested in that, take a look! (After all, with the monster infection plaguing so many patients, Landel would probably be open to negotiating a deal to spare a patient's friend from any needless suffering!)

One final note: We'll be extending Dinner Shift until Tuesday night. This will give us some extra time to make some preparations for upcoming stuff. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Since Nightshift started a little earlier than originally announced, we'll be extending the shift by three days. Dayshift will now begin on Tuesday night.

Thank you!

Hey, guys! In case you didn't notice, the shift didn't change this morning. We had a few requests to extend it and it will be starting tomorrow, Saturday the 5th, instead! Hope that's not a huge problem for anyone.

16 March 2012 @ 06:58 pm
Firstly, I apologize for putting up shift change without roommate information. To compensate for that, we will to extending dinner to March 19.

Secondly, without further ado, here are the roommate additions/changes:

F21 Aigis / Saber
F17 Nico Robin / Renamon

M2 Johnny Rayflo / Scar
M7 Ryuugamine Mikado / Sora
M27 Byrne Faraday / The Doctor

EDIT: I actually didn't get to remove one of the dropped characters so now we also have the following:

F23 Chise

M6 Scott Pilgrim / Luke fon Fabre

Let me know if any corrections/additions need to be made! Thanks for your patience, guys!

11 March 2012 @ 11:10 pm
Hey, guys!

We've sent off the emails to the players of the characters who will eventually turn into Monsters for the Monster Plot. If you haven't received an email, your character will continue to experience symptoms throughout the plot; they just won't turn into Monsters. Transformations are set to start anywhere from Day 64 and to Day 67 and may continue for longer depending on the transformation itself. We'll be giving additional information along the way so keep an eye out for those!

In addition, on account of DST, we will be extending fourth shift by one day. Dinner shift will begin Friday, March 16.

That's it! Let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

13 November 2011 @ 07:36 pm
Hi, guys.

We've looked over the poll results and the subsequent comments from our Night 59 Extension Poll. After some deliberation, we've decided to extend NS for two additional weeks. Therefore, the last day of NS 59 will now be on Sunday, November 27.

The reasons for this extension are two-fold: first, given the rare nature of this event, we wanted to allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy this NS to its fullest. Second, with LiveJournal acting up for days due to their recent DDoS attacks as well as issues with LJ Login and LJ Juggler, we felt it would be best to have enough time to make up for the lag.

Of course, we realize that there are some players out there who've had their characters on hiatus and were waiting for DS for them to re-enter the game. Since the extra wait time may prove to be a hindrance on playing, we would like to provide some extra opportunities if you're interested in bringing your characters this NS. We're going to put up a second plot post in just a few moments and highly encourage players to respond and incorporate people who are interested in jumping into the middle of NS to existing threads if it is possible. Of course, if you would rather stay in hiatus until the end of NS, that is fine as well. This is an entirely optional opportunity.

We hope you enjoy this powers event. Sorry for any inconvenience this has caused to any of you. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask Court, Erin, Jansen, or me!

Hey, gang! We're thinking of extending Night 59 for several more days so everyone can get the most out of this night. To obtain the most optimal time, we thought to direct the "how long" question to you guys.

[Poll #1793182]

Poll will be closed, and the results will be announced on Sunday. Once again, please direct any questions/comments to Court, Erin, Jansen, or me!

I know we're already a day late into starting NS, but unfortunately, we are needing some extra time to prepare for this nightshift's event. (It's worth the wait, I swear.) NS 59, therefore, will start on Monday, October 24. We apologize for the delay and any resulting inconvenience. Thank you so much for your patience, Damned.

18 October 2011 @ 12:35 am
Due to some extensive plotting for this NS, we're going to extend fourth shift for one more day. Dinner shift will now begin Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Thanks for your patience, guys!

12 October 2011 @ 12:36 pm
Due to...more LJ problems, we will be extending third shift by one day! Lunch will now end Thursday, October 13.
