i walked into a hospital where none was sick and none was well

DAMMIT I'VE BEEN FOUND OUT.

So. If you were reading the previous OOC thread... I've been working on a Landel's FST for a while. XD And I have a decent mix of tracks, but. If left to my own devices, it'll be a long time coming. Back when it was a side project, that was okay, but now people know. SO.

If anyone has a song/some songs that just scream WTF LANDELS to you, post 'em here. :D Uploads would kick ass, and if you do so I prefer MP3, but it's not required(I'll figure out how to track down songs and convert file formats as needed). I might not use every single thing that's suggested, but I WILL DO MY BEST.

OKAY GO. XD

EDIT: By and large, I'm not doing individual character tracks. I'd love to, but since there are 927430943730 characters it's sort of impractical. XD; Sorry!

You already know my suggestion but I shall say it again! *puts foot on table* THIS ONE!!!! *points at Metro song she's been listening to all freaking day long*

I Gin demands "Thriller!" Or maybe some of the punk covers from Nightmare before Christmas...

I'll upload this for you when I get home, but the Head Doctor's theme song NEEDS to be "Peace and Love Incorporated" by Information Society. I think. XDDD

I don't know why, but I really like "Propaganda" by Briskeby and "Darkest Love" by Jump, Little Children as Landel's songs. They're both kind of dark and sexy.

I'll link to uploads (and probably more songs, since I was working on my own personal Landel's FST just off of the stuff already on my iTunes XD) after class.

In an effort to move away from all the songs with lyrics, I'm gonna be weird and say at least one of the songs from the Batman Begins soundtrack: Tadarida. :D'' Because it has some really interesting schizo-y background noise and stuff. XD Or maybe True from Silent Hill 2 or any other one of the industrial noise tracks from the games. If anyone knows if there's a non-vocal version of "Room of Angel", please say so. XD

If any of these sound good, let me know and I'll upload 'em. XD

The Rocky Horror Picture Show's 'The Time Warp'. Barring that, head doctor man gets Frank Sinatra's 'Jeepers Creepers'.

What, I'm serious!

TIME WARP! YES! XD

I'm new, so my opinion might not count as much, but...
In the spirit of goofy 90's dance music, how about "Run Away" by Real McCoy?

Lyrics:
http://www.lyricsfreak.com/r/real+mccoy/runaway_20114334.html

I don't have an MP3 for it (on a school comp at the mo) but it's a decently popular song so there shouldn't be trouble.

Do you have Panic! At The Disco's Camisado? If not, I'll upload for you. :D

"Vandemar" from Where's Neil When You Need Him. It is suitably creepy and in German.

Magda Treadgold's Maerchen.

There was a man, whom no skirt
throughout the land was safe from
Who once in a river
Saw a pretty girl bathing
Swiftly hidden the woman's clothes
To see her nakedness
She asks, begs the man
For the garment to keep her warm

"Your body give me for your things
Only then will I depart"
The man said harshly
The woman's tears were flowing
"My body you shall have but only
If you take me for your wife.
The first priest on the way
Has to wed you to me"

The first church he passed by
This was not the right house
And with the second and the third
He excused himself from his promise

"My wife you shall be
Someday it shall be so
Or the worms shall take me
And this pain last evermore"

The woman bore him two, three daughters
Without wedding as before
He loves her and takes care of her
But he keeps getting pulled away
So he keeps whoring for many years
Spends his time with many women
And keeps owing her his vow
Comes just to take off again

The first winter was too icy
To take her out of the house
And with the second and the third
He excuses himself of his promise

Chorus

One day he returns again
But the daughters are away
The woman says that they have flown
To a nicer, better place
The man enraged strikes her kills her
And there they descend
On wings out of the sky
To cry on her grave

"You have lied" the first one says
"Now never you shall keep your vow"
And the second and the third then
Condemn the father to torture

"No more woman you shall have
Never again shall you be happy
The worms shall feast upon you
And forever be this pain"

If you don't mind more instrumental talk, I sometimes listen to the Sin City soundtrack when I'm doing Landel's stuff. :O There's a lot of really good tracks on there, but I like "Sensemaya" by Silvestre Revueltas. If you don't have it, I'll upload. :3

[identity profile] blackenedgirl.livejournal.com 2007-02-14 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
I saw someone mentioned the industrial tracks from Silent Hill, which I HIGHLY RECCOMEND. That aside, I have a couple NIN songs I could reccomend, mostly from The Fragile--Somewhat Damaged, and The Wretched, which have lyrics, and Pilgrimage, which is instrumental and kind of SOUNDS like Silent Hill music. XD

Also, Patrick Wolf...anything by him, really. XD Specifically, though, The Shadow Sea, Jacob's Ladder (which are both like...thirty seconds long XD). And...Insanity, by Oingo Boingo. And Hysteria by Muse. And Thaeter by Marilyn Manson (short, nazi-esque instrumental).

BUT NUMBER ONE FOR SURE-Blood, by My Chemical Romance. It's short and the bonus track on the album with a bunch of empty space at the beginning of the song, which would make it a good end to the soundtrack, possibly?

...and...and...

Everyone: AND YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR OWN FREAKING SOUNDTRACK. *pelts Ace with popcorn*

...Tell me which ones you don't have, and I'll upload them for you to pick and choose from. Or reject them all. WHATEVS. Oh, and if you want lyrics, I have those too. XD

[identity profile] outtokillhim.livejournal.com 2007-02-14 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so anyone who's had contact with me recently knows this is totally predictable, but I would highly reccomend several songs by Rapsutina. They capture varying levels of insanity quite eloquently and whimsically.

Off the top of my head, I would point out "My Orphanage" as a big candidate. As a lighter track "Our Lies".

Also- "Imaginations from the Other Side" by Blind Guardian. And, um... I know I have others. =_=

I'll upload these if they are so desired. Or put up the lyrics.

Here; Have some lyrics of a song I deem Landels-ish.

"Guardian" by Fates Warning

These walls are stained engraved with pain
You will find them under shadows casting
shame
Some it's all they'll ever know, Angels of
the fortunate sons come and go ... You
may not
Entities pass in the night Guardians and the
Reaper fight the will to live shall win
Mares of hope ride through their dreams
blinding light awakens sleeping dawn it
seems
It was all a dream endless dream

I will wish upon a star I believe in you
And if my will has strayed afar I
rememebered you
Will you remember me
I the one you sentenced Pennance
unabsolved
Answer me save my will have you forgotten
me

Pace the hallway blindman for a million
miles of stars
His mind has seen. think you may he lives
in darkness
We're the dark he's seen the light of dream
Karen's been asleep forever I know she
hears me
She has so much to say, Machine shoots
sparks through her egg shell mind
Tears stream from her face
Unto my hand, unto my heart

I'm a fire without a flame helpless child
without a name
With broken wings catch me I'm falling
I'm a question with no answer who are
you that takes my life away from me
unveil the bondaries of the black

I had a dream I was you strong as the fire
In your veins then when I called out your
Name I would remain and witness the pain
I am beyond silent black I will be back
As your guardian

Angels in white you have sacrificed witness
and bury the pain
Walk hand and hand with the fear stricken
child
Strengthen the weak and the lame
Have you seen beyond the unborn
pillar of pennance and lore
Perpetual journey into the realm the
sovereign servitor

I have slow internet, so unfortunately I cannot contribute by uploading, but here's two of my ideas:

"Mitternacht" by E Nomine. In German/Latin, but a pretty creepy song altogether. Looking for the translation now, I'll post it if I find it.

"Animal I've Become" by Three Days Grace. Not too dark and creepy, but a song I've always envisioned for SC-ers. :o

(Sorry if all these comments seem spammy.)

"My Orphanage" by Rasputina

I have been held in this orphanage for longer than my years.
I am made to eat this horrid porridge.
They box me on the ears.
How often I vow to flee, to go.
But this is the only home I know.
My stammered speech, my one suitcase,
My Orphanage, My hateful place.
Like that case, this place I carry
Inside of me.
It's not so very heavy for a stocky child.
They said my mama's loose.
They said she was wild.
Though I never knew or saw that woman sent with me this fatal flaw.
My strange and puffy moon-like face,
My Orphanage,
My hateful place.
My stringy hair, my lack of grace,
My Orphanage,
My hateful place.
I could have been lucky like them
Happy families
Look in my
Dark, rotted heardened heart and you will see:
The downcast glance, the empty embrace
Of my orphanage,
My hateful place.
I'm an evil thing.
I am way full of something
That was left by the side of the road.
I am chipped, curly-lipped.
Never any kindness was shown.
No one else is here,
My Orphanage, My Dear.
It's in me. It's a part.
My Orphanage, My Heart.

(I'm having a really hard time deciding which other songs of theirs to add. Lots of them are very appropriate.)

"You're Not Here" from Silent Hill always reminds me of Landel's. As does "Monster Hospital", but I forgot who it was by.

And. Uhm. I will think of more later. XD;

lol add "Monster Mash" to the list.
