4th Cycle Character Introduction Lists

All right, I'm finally DOING WHAT I NEED TO DO. 8D I was kind of exhausted and out of it from the flight last night. And got TOO much sleep last night but ANYWAY. HERE I AM. HERE I GO. :X

You guys should probably know that we've gotten three of the late apps we've cleared---one of them we were able to read through and accept before we made the intro groups, but I'll put the list of the late apps for you guys to check out. :3

We're expecting about two more pre-approved ones to filter in late, so look forward to those as well! :D Umm... one thing, though: Be forewarned that the SUPER SECRET SUNDAY SURPRISE might require some weird posting rules for it to work out okay, so I'll make a post here with instructions in regards to that once it's revealed what the secret actually is. XD

OH. And to address the weird free-choiceyness and multiple area-places for today, basically, the rule of thumb is to make a new post if no one's entered the area you want your character to go yet, and if someone has already made a post to the area you do what you normally do and post to that area, but not necessarily to that character, etc. (New players, if you're confused about the way posting works around here, don't hesitate to ask one of the mods. XD;)

Um. Right. Groups! Since almost everyone voted in the poll already, Court was kind enough to compile a list of who voted what for me, which I have now organized into a list of groups and what order they'll be introduced in! To clarify, the Head Doctor on the intercom will be the one who will introduce the new patients, and he'll do so by saying "give so-and-so and so-and-so a big welcome blah blah blah" somewhere in his post, using the characters' "real names." Once he's done that, you then need to respond as your character to the Head Doctor post that introduced them, with them waking up and being all "WTF" and stuff, and after that, you can have a nurse escort your character to wherever. XD (To clarify, the head doctor's announcement happens just before all the characters that he introduces wake up.)

EDIT: OH, ONE MORE THING. Today is the day we're going to start implementing damned_patients, a concept which... I'll explain right now with the same words I used in the Mod comm. XD;

damned_patients is basically a way for the NPC mods to make the setting of Landel's scarier than it already is. After all, even if a couple of dropped-characters get killed off here and there, it's not that often and not widespread enough to really get characters scared of losing their own lives and get them generally traumatized. SO. Basically, the purpose of these NPC patients is to have original characters whose backstories aren't that fleshed-out or anything talk with the patients and bond with them only to DIE in some horrible fashion during nightshift in front of aforementioned patients after one or two days.

Of course, seeing as original characters brought up so much controversy in the Lounge, we've decided that the best thing to do is for a couple of people to come up with a bunch of backgrounds from which other NPC mods can pick and choose from--so that we don't end up with a situation where someone becomes an NPC mod to play their own original character without any intention of getting them killed off and so on and so forth. XD The NPC-creators of the hour are myself and Fey, who came up with three girls and three guys. Each set has a normalish, sci-fi, and fantasy character, who aren't connected to any pre-existing original story or anything. The NPC mods have access to these people's (sparse) bios, and are basically picking up whoever they want to RP. And kill off. XD here are some of the random models we made icons out of to represent the characters as icons.

Uhm. Fey's gonna make another post explaining how the damned_patients are going to work in more detail. :3 <3

I... sorta get what you mean? XD They'd probably see a sleeping form on the bed, but yeah, they'd definitely be escorted out before their new!roommate would wake up, thus the new person would see an empty bed.

I guess.... it depends on whether that roommate has posted yet, though? 8D Like, if they've posted to one of the two areas already, the bed is empty, if not, they're still asleep. XD; For simplicity's sake.

Yeah, if it's dinner shift you're talking about, thenn.... I guess you should assume that you're waking up before your roommate (if it's a veteran) has been brought back to the room, and if it's a new person, then... I guess work it out with each other who you want to wake up first. XD;;;
