It's that time again! (Though because Tad forgot and can't post right now, you have a special guest host for this round.)

Who are you apping in [livejournal.com profile] damned this cycle?

Two weeks to apps! But before the panic sets in, it's time for people to squee and be joyful.

You, the potential apper, post here with a picture or the name and series of who you're apping. Just keep pictures small, please! Think of the people with slow connections.
We, the happy citizens of damned, rejoice! And possibly offer help, support, or firstborn children.
All have a good time. That's the most important part.

As always, this is completely optional. No one is obligated to post if they don't want to. It's just for fun, and because people are curious. And the meme is mod approved!

I'm going to c/p the author's summary of the book because he does it much better than I can: "Jack and his Box are stuck beneath the bed with the dust, spiders, and other castaway toys. Forced to face a bitter truth--children grow up and toys are left behind--Jack believes this is the worst that can happen to a toy. But when the Plucker, a malevolent spirit, is set loose upon the world of make-believe and Jack is thrust into the unlikely role of defending Thomas, the very child that abandoned him, he finds out there is worse that can befall a toy - far worse. Jack, and a beleaguered last handful of toys, must struggle to rise above their simple roles as playthings in an effort to save the boy they love."

It sounds simple but when he says 'far worse' he means 'toys learn to kill things so they and their owner don't get tortured, maimed, and eaten. And they might get chucked into the attic and forgotten later anyway.' There's a shitload of toy gore (http://www.theplucker.com/scary1.jpg) and nightmare fuel (http://www.theplucker.com/PPlucker.jpg) and really insanely cool art (http://www.bromart.com/gallery/index.html). It's not all dark though? The story's got some really charming, giggle-worthy stuff - especially when Jack is being a goofball. Admittedly, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm having a tiny love affair with this book. ;; /pimps shamelessly

IT MADE ME CRY. T_T And I have roughly the empathy of a pile of bricks when it comes to movies/books/ect. SO WORTH IT THOUGH. WORTH EVERY CENT which I didn't pay because it was a gift.
