PSA - alchemy

I'm posting this because I realized something after the last couple posts in a thread I'm in with another character. Alchemy comes up a lot as a means of obtaining a weapon at Landel's, but it really shouldn't be relied on. I was going through a mental list of alchemists here and realized that after some of the more recent drops Leon is the only one left.

So if you were wondering who was available for that... Yeah. That's it. I'm booked for the current night and the following two nights, after which he gets a short break. I'll only do lists of a handful of people at a time because of how much planning ahead that is, and I'll try to make things as fair as possible next time slots are open but that will be several months from now.

I've made a post in his journal here for questions and whatnot. We may get more alchemists in the future. Who knows?

I just thought it might be important to let people know how things currently stood on that regard.

HAY is me asking if you'd like to thread Ashton and Leon sometime next dayshift. /bats eyes

Just cause I'm curious, a question about Leon's alchemy. How does he do it? Magic/heraldry/symbology, or the canon alchemy skill? Do you think other SO characters could do it, though probably not as well since they don't have the blessing of manna, like in the game? I want to figure out a way to take the load off of Leon, but... I have no magic-using characters so lkdjfld idk what to do :(

Yeah, I'm up for that. :) He has one shift taken at some point, but that's it I think.

It's a mix of alchemy/heraldry, since they both use a lot of symbols and whatnot. Mostly the alchemy skill since that involves the actual change of matter (and that does require the Blessing of Mana to use). It helps that he's one of the best crafting characters and usually made weapons too (at least when I used him) so I thought it was plausible. He took a few nights to learn and practice it.

I really don't want to try and beg for more alchemy help, because while it would be nice it's basically asking you to hand over most of those character's nightshifts. I doubt it would take much of a load off him anyway - just make the pool bigger. I'll be having him moving around a bit more afterwards eventually.

Ahhh. Gotcha. Nono, it's totally plausible to me - in fact, kinda cool. Reminds me of the time Claude and Ashton did compounding at night, which I kinda wanna do again... I was just being all "hmmm lolol could Ashton do it" but ... probably not, in that case. >: If I had decided to play Rena as I had originally thought, then maybe, but... OH WELL.

As for a way to help relieve the load/make more alchemists, I know Andrew tried to get Reinforce in contact with an alchemist at one point on the board in an attempt to learn it using her special Book Powers. Just a thought.
