Hiatus by Proxy

Zalia's internet is currently being made of fail and lose, and will load nothing except gmail. So she can't exactly post, and she needs to hiatus until it gets fixed.

This goes for Kenren, Ronixis, Cissnei, Tsubasa, Allelujah, and England.

Oh, and she asks that if anyone has any suggestions for fixing it, please suggest them! (Tried restarting the computer and the modem, both failed).

Can she access Gmail over the web? If so, then I suspect that it's DNS-related, where it can resolve some IP addresses but not all. To test this, have her try going to http://208.93.0.128 and see if that works (should take her to LJ's home page).

If she recently installed a firewall or Internet security software and/or tweaked their settings, that could interfere, too. Also, if she knows how to edit the Hosts file, she might want to take a peek to make sure nothing weird is in there that could be intercepting access to the sites she can't reach.

The link doesn't work, unfortunately, and she hasn't installed or changed anything recently. She also doesn't know what a host file is, so she doesn't want to try messing with that.

Yeah, in that case, as Kaze said and as you suggested, I'd contact the ISP.

Not yet; that's actually what I suggested. She has to see about getting her dad to do it.

Okay, because it sounds like it's a fail on her ISP's side. If not, she might want to check and just make sure that her browsers haven't randomly rejected websites.

Is she only using one browser?

Has she tried ritual sacrifice? Prayer? Using a different browser?
