Mirage of Blaze, AKA A BIG HEADACHE

Okay. I think I made this post before, but I forget. Oh well can't hurt to remind people. That and we have a new cycle going on so there are new characters! HI!!!

Naoe and Takaya are 'Possessors' (eh, there's a Japanese name too that I KNOW but can't spell... ask Souji). Basically they died 400 years ago and have since then been booting out other people from their bodies (usually newborns but in times of crisis they have been known to kick out older people). This is why they both have two names at the moment...

If the mods have gracefully allowed you to keep any sort of 'sensing' ability when it comes to people being dead/possessed/messed up/whatever, then you should probably talk to either myself or Souji about what they would be able to tell about Takaya and Naoe. The two of us usually agree when it comes to this thing (as we talk about it A LOT <.<) and make sure that we both know who would be able to tell what about them. If all else fails feel free to comment here and we'll talk here too... yadda yadda yadda...

As a sort of side note:

Mirage of Blaze is a very complex and confusing anime/manga/series of novels that relies very heavily on pseudo Japanese history (and some real Japanese history). Almost all of the characters in it have many different incarnations throughout the show/manga/novels that are important to the plot. Even the characters that aren't 'Possessors' are reincarnations of people that the Possessors knew in their original lives and you learn all about their first names and such. There are also characters like Kagetora/Takaya who were traded around 400 years ago as bargaining chips between war lords and got a name change every year or so even when they were alive!

If you are at all curious about the details, either because your character will know it or just because you have free time and are curious, there's more detail on this website. I could write it out too, but it wouldn't be nearly as well or organized as what this person has done and there wouldn't be pictures.

That and I'm LAZY.

P.S. If you did check the website.... SEE HOW MANLY NAOE USED TO BE AND HOW WIMPY KAGETORA??? I know who wears the PANTS in this relationship!! .... Please don't hurt me Kagetora-sama...

Uh, question. Would that include Dean? He hasn't got any 'ability', though he's been a hunter of the supernatural for years and he seems to have a pretty keen sense enabling him to distinguish when something isn't right with someone/something. Maybe if he were to ever meet them, he could suspect something's a little off...? He doesn't have any kind of abnormal, non-human ability of his own, so you needn't worry about him pinpointing their powers. Unless they were to boot someone out of their body whilst standing in front of him and, yeah.

If Souji doesn't know him, you could look at his wiki (under 'Supernatural') for clarification and what not.

Okay. We talked it over and unless Supernatural has some kind of precedence for non-malivanuant souls taking over human bodies then we really don't think it applies. The Possessors of MoB aren't demons, they are people, and Dean's mostly been fighting demons. It's kind of a totally different story. That and they've been doing it for long enough that I think, magical ability aside, they've gotten really good at tricking people. If that makes sense?

Then again I don't know your fandom like I said. Is there an episode where Dean and Sam face, say, a ghost or something that possesses a person as opposed to a demon?

The only entity in the SPN 'verse capable of possessing people and controlling their actions are demons, or so I think. There've been cases where spirits have influenced and therefore altered people's behaviour. For example, the spirit of Dr Ellicot residing in the Asylum they investigated lured and attacked people who entered the South Wing. As consequence of the experiments he performed on patients when he was alive, he could amplify a person's anger to the point of making them homicidal (which he did to Sammy).

They've dealt with things like that before, but I do understand your point. Spirits like Dr Ellicot were malevolent. Naoe and Takaya have obviously been doing what they do for centuries, and since there isn't much indication they're possessing a body that isn't their own (since I think they did it rarely and there's seemingly no side effects), I doubt Dean would notice. He hasn't 'mostly been fighting demons', but the case of a soul taking over a human body would be something new for him, since it seems the only thing he knows of that can possess and control people like that are demons. So I guess there's nothing to worry about.

... I have to say that I'm really interested in Supernatural now. XD Is it still on television? (I don't have cable anymore so I wouldn't be able to check <.<) I think I saw it at my work, but that might have been something else. Is it out on DVD?

[identity profile] thehellismycar.livejournal.com 2007-05-03 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Season One is currently available as a six-disc boxset. Season Two hasn't finished airing in the US, so it won't be available on DVD for a while. If you're in the US, it's on Thursday nights. Watch it this week and you'll see a wicked Dean-centric Season Two episode that isn't airing over here until June! Dx

I PROMOTE SUPERNATURAL.

Yeah, so we do carry it! I work at Target and I thought I had seen it. XD I don't have cable so I can't watch it and yeah, I'm in USA. Sad. :(

I don't know what you guys mean when you refer to 'cable', but 'cable' over here means paid tv, and the channel Supernatural airs on over here is free commercial tv.

well over here you have to pay even to get basic and i don't have any of it.

:c Lame. Well, DVDs are just as good. *owns Season One and, yes* :3

So, I guess it would be safe to say Miku could feel them, if they're spiritual ability is anything like Renji's (dead-person-in-living-person's-body)? In which case I am afeared for my little shutterbug :D;
