So, I'm curious, and easily bored at work. What do your characters' journal names mean?

Example! Screwthegods is pretty much Homura's attitude towards Heaven, and budgetordie is Tatsumi's attitude towards life. ^.^

Alternately, if you could have a different journal name for any of your characters, what would it be?

I'm probably not an ideal person to comment on your question as my character isn't even in play yet, but you asked a question that allows me to complain about how silly Livejournal is. :P

Starting with the second your part of the question, I tried to name my journal "I_climb_beanstalks", since that brings to mind the story most people know about Jack. Sadly, LJ said it was too long. So I went with "I_slay_giants" becase Jack grew up to be the Jack from the "Jack the Giant Killer" tales.

Jei is Farfarello's canon "real name." Nothing complicated. ^^;

I think I_slay_giants is cute. And no worries! I'm not playing Tatsumi yet, but it should be okay since they've been accepted. :)

Forgot_it_all is a reference to Ritsuka's 10 year memory blank due to his personality switch. I would have gone with Loveless (his Sacrifice name) but that was taken. Now I'm thinking he should just be called Jailbait or Shotaball or something.

Artemis has been described as "Fowl by name and foul by nature", so it just seemed to fit. I would have liked byname&bynature, but ampersands are a no-no. ^^;; I also debated using one of Artemis' many pseudonyms like Emmesy Squire (MC^2), and Dr. F. Roy Dean Schlippe (Freudian Slip), but I figured it'd be harder to know who it was. ^^;;

Ed's is lost_metal, which I guess is pretty straightforward. All of my Ed RP journals have something to do with metal 'cause of his automail, and he's kinda' lost in Landel's.

Yohji's is never_learns, which I think sums him up perfectly. He has a tattoo which says 'When you gonna' learn?' and he keeps falling in love with the wrong person, keeps making the same mistakes over and over again ^^;

Kenren's is opposingheaven, which is pretty self explanatory too ^^;

Rangiku's is fuyunohanabi, which is the title of the song on Gin's album which she and Gin duet. Means 'winter fireworks'

Byakko's is catsandsaucers, which has pretty much no reason at all ^^; Except that it came to me while I was working and I really liked it.

Talionisshinra comes from 'Lex Talionis' which means 'The Law of Revenge' which is the AIM name any of them can be found under.

Theheirshinra is pretty clear. Rufus is the heir to the Shinra legacy.

RabastLestrange comes from, duh, Rabastan Lestrange

DeathInvitation comes from Sephiroth's song, 'One Winged Angel'.

James Sunderland's dnrdni comes from the DNR/DNI order, a callback to Mary.

The Dementor's (dementorkiss) is pretty basic with that being what they do.

Now I'm thinking he should just be called Jailbait or Shotaball or something.

Especially with all the canon bondage art of him.

And not so much Okita, but Tetsu should be topped_by_pig or something like that. :D

Honestly, I don't know. I'm not very creative with names. Even my other RP journals (not Landamned, though some of them will be converted if I get those characters)... kenren, kougaiji, not exactly brain surgery. seimeinomago for Masahiro, which is even the name of the official website, so, again. No creativity. I think probably the only really creative one is my Oriya LJ, which is kensei_pimp. ^^;;

Ooh. I like the name/nature thing. That's clever. What canon is he from? I might have to explore this now.

Kasady's is just how he views his bond with the symbiote.

Weeell... He's from the Artemis Fowl Series by Eoin Colfer. ^^ It's written for kids, but I highly recommend it--there's A LOT of adult humor in it. I still giggle to myself while reading it. XD

...yeah ^^; I've been attempting to figure it out myself, if it was some kind of odd subliminal thing, but no... it has no meaning ^^;

ciaccona--I...honestly don't know why the hell I chose this. It's the Italian reading of "chaconne," a French musical form which is basically similar to the pasacoglia, or "variations on a theme" (FUN FACT: Pachelbel's Canon in D--which I HATE XD--isn't actually a Canon...it's a pasacoglia). As for how that relates to my jailbait!Elena...it's anyone's guess. I made the journal almost a year ago. I may have thought I was being clever back then...but now...XD;

just_shiny--In Firefly-verse, "shiny" is the new slang for cool/okay/happy, etc. Kaylee says it a lot. XD

totallytheseme--I mean, c'mon. He IS totally the seme. Plus, "totallytheattacker" was too many letters.

Qui-Gon's

qui_gonjinn doesn't really need an explanation, other than that it was a recycled LJ I'd used in a previous RP.

Darman's

clone_boy isn't really too creative either. He's a clone and a boy in years. I GUESS. xD

Eddie Brock's

blacksustenance came from a Venom/Spider-man slash fanfic (same title). Black 'cause he's, uh, black as Venom and sustenance for food. That and I just suck at names, so it was random.

Ooh, I like trigger-happy-monk. Except it'd have to be one word to fit in the character limit. ;)

This is Dean's journal name because canonly it throws him to not know of the Impala's whereabouts, and given the Landel's situation I'm sure it would be among the first thoughts to spring up. It's basically a member of the family. Y'know when you create a journal, and a username just appears in your mind and it sticks there? Yeah. Nothing else seemed to suit him.

seizethesun) is my way of saying she's an optimist. It's a weak play on carpe diem, seize the day. I originally doted on 'prettyinpink', but I must say I much prefer this name.

You are correct. Even in your spelling. :) He's the division secretary who really runs the show, and who wants Tsuzuki because the similiarities to his (Tatsumi's) mother.

Sora is full of light and is a bright sort of person, so yes. XD;; This username is sort of pretentious.

still_free: The opening theme song of Firefly has a line that goes, "I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me." XD;; And that whole song is basically about Mal, so... yes.

championofright: Also from the opening song. (I'm so creative.) Daring duck of mystery, champion of right~ Darkwing also refers to himself as the champion of right in the show a few times.

For Fuu, I like

seizethesun better too, especially since she's always going after the sunflower samurai. When I first saw the name, I thought it had something to do with that too. :) The play on carpe diem is cute too though, and very much her.

Ken's image flower is a Gentian, and whenever he's drawn with them they're blue...a variety of blue Gentian is the trumpet gentian, or 'Gentiana clusii.'

It's a very pretty flower (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b6/Gentiana-clusii-ClusiusEnzian.jpg), really. :D
