DAMNED CHAT
So.
Sososososo.
Now that we've finally got everyone in, I would like to inform the new players (and remind the old ones) there is this thing called DAMNED CHAT. Sadly, due to certain circumstances, such asFRIGGIN PLURK finals and other things, activity has waned off it and as a result has lost momentum - the less people come in, the less people want to come in. But hopefully we can turn that around!
Anyway, the room is DamnedOOC on AIM or whatever AIM-compatible chat client you use. If you don't know how to get into pre-existing chat rooms without an invite, just add yourself to your own buddy list, then invite yourself to DamnedOOC. We're all very friendly and willing to answer questions and such or just shoot the breeze or talk about cracky what-ifs or things that are completely unrelated to anything! You can also find ourcreepy robot overlord friendly assistance bot, brbnightshift, also known as I.R.I.S. hanging around there, who can be pinged with various questions such as "who is [screenname]?" or "where is [character]" and who knows what else.
PLUS I MISS PEOPLE.
- Kobayashi (sn: MindtheSukima)(Yukari/Sho/Hime/Stein-mun)
P.S.: For those who don't know, we also have a crack-community that's also open to non-Damnedites, non-Damned characters and... well, pretty much everyone, called The Fountain of Cod. There's a long story about that name, but long story short: epic Near typos.
Also, there's Damned Cafe which is an OOC comm for not-exactly relevant to the RP but related to Damned material (fics, pics, musing, damned-only memes, friending memes, etc).
Lastly, there is Damned Quotes, which is seriously not getting enough love. See a funny quote while stalking? Something epic? Touching? Whatever it is, if it's written somewhere in Damned (institute or bulletin), and you think others should see it, submit it to Damned quotes!

REGARDING THE FOUNTAIN OF COD!
Back in the day,
The very first "party" had a fountain with a cod statue that spat glitter (because Mikami is glittery, idk), and it soon became a fixture at all of them. Therefore, when a comm was made to host them aside from on people's private journals, the name seemed appropriate.

Also, as mentioned, FoC isn't officially affiliated with Damned or anything, so yeah. :) Anyone is welcome.

I'd like to make a few notes:
1) The way to get into chat is to add yourself to your own AIM buddy list, then right-click (or equivalent) your own name and choose, depending which version of AIM you're using, "Group Chat" or "Buddy Chat". When the invitation window pops up, change the name of the chat to "damnedooc" -- that will get you in without needing invites from others. You can join at any time.
2) If you do come into chat, TALK. Say something to let people know you're there. Chat idles so much when I'm in it that I miss people coming in and out. A lot of people are set to only get notification if someone says something (because notifications of people entering/leaving chat can be annoying and unnecessary when chat is hopping).
3) When people complain about chat being dead and players not signing in to AIM anymore because of Plurk, the general response has been, "Well, not everyone was always in chat anyway, and they can always use LJ messages." That's true, but I think the point people are trying to make when they complain is that they did use chat and are frustrated that people who used to use it have largely abandoned it for Plurk, and are no longer available as often on AIM. In other words, Plurk is not acting as "a supplement to chat which is friendlier to people who didn't use chat much anyway" -- it's supplanted chat almost entirely, and I kind of wish more people were more sensitive to that issue, although it IS more of an issue of "people who used to go to chat not going" (cough, innocent look, etc) than "people who were never in chat much using Plurk." Because it's causing some people to feel socially disconnected from the game (we still have players on dial-up; not everyone can use Plurk), I don't personally think that this is a good thing. :\
At the same time, any system for chatting can be extremely distracting when you're trying to tag, so I totally understand why people wouldn't want to be on both at the same time. It's also true that there are players who are never available through any kind of immediate communication who do just fine. A lot of it depends on how much socializing given players are interested in. It's kind of a Catch-22.
