Welcome to another episode of keep Tad entertained! Mostly an excuse for me force my canon upon you, though. ♥

Promote your canon in 1 sentence. Even better, provide links to get your canon if possible.

Example! Saiyuki: There is neither good nor evil; only a bunch of people with mother-loving, brother-loving, sister-loving, father-figure-loving, bunny-loving, power-loving, gun-loving, food-loving issues, and occasionally a pair of big breasts.

Manga: Saiyuki 1-9, Saiyuki Reload 1-5 +1 chapter

If you're only going to download one thing, make it the manga, which is worlds better than the anime despite it's lack of Homura. If I've given you a link to download the manga before, use this one instead, as it actually has all of the volumes. You'll need a program that can open *RAR files.

I'll upload Gaiden once I get the files a bit more organized, but for now! The 9 volumes of Saiyuki, and the first 5 of Reload, plus a chapter from 6. Saiyuki comes before Reload, so read that first.

And if you want more, up to volume 7 of Reload has been put out by Tokyopop, so hit up a bookstore.

Anime:
Saiyuki Seasons 1 and 2: Bittorent 1 or Bittorent 2
Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Reload Gunlock: Bittorents Here (Scroll down; the list is in alphabetical order.)

If you're going to only download one series, make it the first, because it has Homura (and thank Gemi for finding them ♥). I'm not a huge fan of the anime, but they does have their moments, and it covers the manga plot fairly well.

Except when they have to make up filler, and Sanzo gets beaten by a mud bubble.

Haha, wtf. But I could use a distraction. XD

Vampire Knight (http://www.mangatemple.com/fantasy/supernatural/vampire-knight/vampire-knight.html): Vampire teenagers go to school, defy traditional vampire roles, and wear nice uniforms.

Jigoku Shoujo (http://www.shinsen-subs.org/?page=projects): Little girl sends lots and lots of people to hell with the help of her three assistants, talking straw dolls/youkai.

'Kay wut. Why do my series sound like crap in one sentence? IT'S NOT MY FAULT. *rofl*

[identity profile] voiceless-rage.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Aw man. I can't provide downloads because I attach myself to videogames and REFUSE TO LET GO.

Drakengard: (http://www.drakengard.net) It's the end of the world, complete with blatant insinuated pedophilia/incest/bestiality/necrophilia and more bloodshed than you can fill a bucket with.

Silent Hill 2: Man kills his wife, doesn't remember it, goes after her when he gets a letter from her despite the fact that he thinks she's dead.

Weiss Kreuz: Assassins go out and kill people, meet up with other assassins, have fights with those assassins, and then some evil gods arrive via a comatose girl.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Boy with two real limbs and his armor-soul brother look for a way to fix their problems.

(I'm not funny. :< )

Best summary of FMA EVER

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
I can't provide links, and I'm not bothering with Ouran and FMA, but...

Babylon 5: An epic battle of good vs evil, order vs chaos, right vs wrong and the interwoven lives of the soldiers on either side written by one of the greatest science fiction writers of our time - and laced with humor, romantic tension and some incredible mythos.

The Halfblood Chronicles: Fantasy cliches turned on their ear - sadistic, power-hungry elven overlords, lazy and cowardly dragons, and a race of humans content and settled in their lives of slavery - all the backdrop for the handful of people attempting to change the world.

Xenogears: Shades of gray abound in this original PS game; as well as giant robots, spaceships, magic, pirates, cannibalism, sexual tension, and oodles of religious symbolism.

Loveless (http://www.yurusu.net/manga.php?page=scanlations) - There's a kitty boy (who wields the dual weapons of emo and cute with amazing grace!) who is shota'd by this older guy who doesn't have kitty ears, but who fights for his honor to help emocute!boy with his revenge using word spells that result in bondage.

Peacemaker Kurogane (http://youtube.com/results?search_query=peacemaker+kurogane&search=Search) - The series is supposed to be about the kick ass samurai police, Shinsengumi, who help keep Kyoto safe during the Bakumatsu, but really it's about a feisty kid getting advice from a really really flouncy samurai about whether to become a killer or a peacemaker.

Metal Gear Solid 3 (http://www.konami.jp/gs/game/mgs3/english/index.html): Basically a James Bond pastiche, one man, and two boobs, must infiltrate a sprawling jungle against all odds, blow up a giant tank, kill a bisexual electrical giant, a group of supernatual nutcases, a guy who meows for backup, and that one man's nihilistic hollow mentor who betrayed America.

The best I can do link wise for my canon is to link you to my monthly commentary on issues with scans, as I think Vertigo will kill me if I gave out the issues... ^_^; If you contact me, I may be able to hook you up, though. I MEAN, NO.

Jack of Fables: One rogue trickster Fable wandering America, looking to hit it rich (or to just plain "hit it" with the lady types)and to not get screwed over himself.

Final Fantasy 6: An assorted cast of characters, which may or may not include thieves treasure hunters, opera-singing ex-generals, mysterious girls, royalty with power tools, bad-mouthed little girls, ninjas, samurai, gender-confused mimes, and furries, fail to save the world from psychotic clown.

Also, no links, unless you want me to go hunt down a ROM?

Spider-man - Nerd meets radioactive spider, spider bites nerd, nerd becomes famous superhero with a zoo-full of villians that include goblins, octupi and an alien that has a hard-on for said nerd and just wants to have his bastard children.

Because there's way too much history to go into, so keeping with what's relevant to Damned:
Some of the 90's Cartoon: Black Suit Spider-man/Venom's origin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwblimRl50E)
Spider-man 3 - Venom and Sandman (okay, so I'm biased lol) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=944y8sWSDHs)

Star Wars: A long time ago in a galaxy far away there were whiny farm boys, gay smugglers and walking carpets.

Lightsaber Battle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68DWhQ83FUw)

[identity profile] blacksustenance.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, and Spider-man 3's Bell Tower scene (cartoon has better symbiote origins, but movie has better bell-tower): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vR24ogudQ08

*DONE FOR REALS*

[identity profile] rubbermancan.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
One Piece: A young, cheeful pirate (who's cursed with a rubber body and is unable to swim) sets out with big dreams to assemble his own crew, find the legendary treasure One Piece, and become the Pirate King - embarking on an adventure packed with action, humor, and heart-warming tales of friendship and camaraderie.

The manga. (http://stoptazmo.com/one_piece/) A domestic release of the manga is also available from Viz at your local bookstore.

The anime. (http://kaizoku-fansubs.com/) A fantastic animated adaptation of the manga. A domestic release is currently unavailable due to the atrocity known as 4Kids Entertainment. :*( If you've only been exposed to the heavily edited English dub, I strongly suggest you watch the Japanese version in its original, unaltered glory.

[identity profile] blacksustenance.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 08:35 am (UTC)(link)
You COULD be evil and link the terrible One Piece English Rap opening...but that might be cruel and unusual punishment. :P

[identity profile] repolarization.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
I also lack the links... sad...

Getbackers: Two best friends attempt to make it in the world by getting back what shouldn't be gone; it's too bad for them that they have no luck with the money gods but what they do have is a tower full of horrors in the middle of Shinjuki, a Beastmaster, a Threadspinner, a Computer boy (and I mean that literally), a girl with potions, witches, artists, puppetmasters, drugs, violence, yakuza, the Honky Tonk cafe (run and operated by a mysterious Jack-of-all-Trades, and worked in by a cat-loving high school girl), a car, etc etc etc, and the task to put together the puzzle of the secrets of their world without knowing what the picture looks like.

That was the mother of run-on sentences, but I DON'T CARE DAMNIT! GO TRACK DOWN GETBACKERS AND WATCH IT IF YOU HAVEN'T IT IS GOOD! The manga is better but if I got into that it would be an even BIGGER run-on sentence.

Mirage of Blaze: 400 years ago Japan, when in it's Warring States Era, the souls that died were so angry with the events of their lives that they stuck around to cause problems so a great and powerful war lord asked his adopted son and a small group of his followers to cast aside the reincarnation cycle and be reborn each generation; if only he knew all the hate/love/betrayal/loyalty issues he would be creating!

Naruto: Anything I can say will be said better a million times over... XD I will say this about Naruto though, the anime might be good, but soundtrack SUCKS SO BAD.

Animorphs: Jake and his friends take the shortcut home one day and on the way experience an encounter with an alien that tells them the world is in danger and they are the only hope for mankind, as well as gives them the power to morph into any animal as the only means of fighting off the invading alien threat.

I'm not even going to try for Ouran, either, just because people can say it better than me.

I can describe Phoenix Wright fandom in 3 words, however: Big Gay Lawyers. ;) All kidding aside, though, it basically goes like this: Nicest guy in the world and wacky spirit medium sidekick go out and defend clients in a world where all the prosecutors are all cutthroat and the judge is thick as a brick. http://www.court-records.net is the major fansite.

[identity profile] heavens-too-far.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Star Ocean: The Second Story: An apparently straightforward story about a futuristic, technologically-advanced Earth boy getting flung into a typical RPG-type undeveloped planet with swords and magic - at least until the planetary collision that throws your party onto an entirely new planet for the second half of the game to begin.

No links, but you can buy the game from Amazon or eBay(get it used; it's no longer made but it's still such an underground hit that it's $100 a pop for new games; used you can get it for around $40). The manga based off of it is v. pretty, but unfinished. The anime, Star Ocean EX, is the same, but I believe the episodes can be found on YouTube.

Weiss Kreuz: Florists by day, vigilante assassins by night, four of the prettiest, gayest, most emo men in Japan love and lose (mostly lose) while seeking personal vengeance and comatose women; four superpowered sadists do everything in their power to bed stop them.

No links here, either. The Assassin And White Shaman books are something of a manga precursor to the anime series that started it all, Weiss Kreuz Kapitel. The anime series itself, I got the entire thing for $60 at a convention and never regretted the purchase. There is a second anime series, Weiss Kreuz Gluhen, with a bigger budget but character designs drawn up while smoking crack cut with the edges of the large bills the animators were paid with. "Hey, you know how Schuldig was sexy? What if we, like. DIDN'T DO THAT THIS TIME." "Sir, you have a gift."

Okami: A wolf goddess runs around Nippon using her tail as a calligraphy brush, working miracles and fighting demons, while inexplicably dogged by a sparkly French-speaking pretty boy flautist prophet who flies, walks on water, and uses a lightsaber named Pillow Talk.

BUY THE GAME. It'll be the best $40-$50 you ever spent.

I got my Gluhen set for $12.

City of Villains: A chance to be the bad guy- break out of jail and earn your street cred as a grade-A unscrupulous individual by robbing banks, killing heroes, keeping the innocent citizens thoroughly oppressed, pitching in to help with mad scientist's experiments and climb the ranks of the world's most powerful villain group, Arachnos: Recluse is its leader is the guy who gets to lord it over all the players, while keeping with the standards of villainy by having massive insecurities revolving around his archenemy.

RUN-ON OF DOOM!

Here's a link to the Official Site (http://www.cityofvillains.com). As a subsrciber to the game, I can give out 10-day free trial codes to anyone interested in playing! Just ask, and I can hook you up!

Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic- An amnesiac, reluctant hero and a ship full of oddballs is sent out to save the galaxy; moral choices abound, and you get to decide whether it would be more fun to solve people's problems, or rob them or all their possessions and then kill them!

...I always go for option two. Small wonder I'm now the mun for the series' cheerfully homicidal droid. Here's the Dev's site (www.bioware.com/games/knights_old_republic) for the game. LucasArts being the crazy people that they are, they don't have their official site up anymore!!

[identity profile] voiceless-rage.livejournal.com 2007-05-10 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
... I do not need to ask for a 10-day trial code. I already pay 15 bucks a month for WoW. I don't need to play a new MMO.

Yu Yu Hakusho: A punk with a bad attitude and poor school attendence(who dies in the first five seconds of the first episode), his street-brawling rival, a reincarnated demon, and an exiled demon protect the human realm from any and all other-worldly harm; all while under the guidance of a 700 yr-old toddler and his assistant, a cheerful blue-haired 'grim reaper'/spirit guide. [Sorry no links! ;-;]

Petshop of Horrors: Mysterious, effeminate, chinese petshop owner sells murderous, and sometimes mythilogical, pets to unwary--yet flawed--humans, while being accosted by a loud and brash american detective who, over a cup of tea, wrongly accuses him of everything from opium distribution to indonesian slave-trade. Resident Evil: Zombies, parasites, bio-weapons, and more mad scientists than one main character can handle.

SUPERNATURAL
Season One: Two strapping young men kick ass and take names while they search for their missing father, realising that everything they hunt is bi-curious where it concerns their presence.
Season Two: One strapping young man, the other steadily overcome by a raging storm of emo, find there's more to this whole 'demon-killed-our-mother' thing and have yet to meet a woman who doesn't want the handsome one's body - though this comes as no surprise to said handsome one.
