Doyleton Purchase Guide and Request

If your character is looking to purchase something, you've come to the right place. Most of the businesses in Doyleton are willing to offer goods and services to Landel's Institute patients so long as they have the proper amount of funds in their cards. Though the overall concept is fairly simple, there are a few things players will need to keep in mind before making an IC purchase:

1. Not everything is up for sale. All shopkeepers will bar patients from purchasing anything potentially dangerous or cumbersome (e.g., knives at Kitchin' Fixins or larger electronics like computers).

2. All purchases will be confiscated by the military when the patients board the buses at the end of the day. They will be returned at dinner along with their usual NS-only items (unless they've misbehaved).

3. Patients can trying haggling for a better bargain, but harassment of any townspeople will not be tolerated. Anyone abusing Doyleton folk will be warned and punished accordingly.

4. A patient can make a purchase with someone else's card so long as the card's owner is beside them during the time of purchase. A good rule of thumb to use is RL approach to credit cards. If a patient can't prove they are authorized to use the card, they cannot buy. There will be no exceptions.

5. Patient purchases do not require a NPC mod every time. You may request for one if the circumstances call for it, but in general, if the patient just wants to buy something simple, go ahead and have them do so in your own posts (after you receive the proper approval for the purchase, of course).

If your character plans to buy something, please fill out the following form first:

SUBJECT LINE: Purchase
Character: [Character name] [livejournal.com profile] _username_here
Requested Item(s): What your character is looking to buy?
Current Funds: Tell us how much is on your character's card.
Do you need a NPC mod for this transaction?: Y/N
Day #: [location here]

Post this form to the appropriate location, and a NPC mod will approve/reject the request as well as let you know of the costs involved. Please do not go forward with the purchase until a NPC mod approves your request.

As usual, if you have any questions, feel free to ask here (make sure to mark the subject line as Question) or throw us a contact.

Of the non-glass case ones, there's a few super cheap ones like this for two dollars, and a slightly nicer one for six.

Approved!

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Approved! It would be $2.50.

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Approved! For $1.

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It wouldn't have a whole lot of accurate info in it and be kind of vague and yes, written for a child, but approved! $3.

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Approved! $4.50.

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Approved! $2

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
A pack is $4.50!

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
He can probably get a couple for about $3!

[identity profile] corvus-veritas.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds good! Thank you~.

[identity profile] stlg13bomber.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That's probably exactly what he needs anyway.

...actually, if it's $3, can I make that two books, with the other one being another childish text on computers? Again, pretty simplistic stuff, hardly a programmer's guide to Linux. He just thinks they're cool.

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds fine!

[identity profile] blind-nights.livejournal.com 2011-05-14 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
You know it. That sounds good, thank you!

Character: Aidou ([livejournal.com profile] blood_and_pocky)
Requested Item(s): Backpack or bag or something? He's running on fumes fund-wise, but I was wondering what the price range would be for backpacks or some kind of storage bag that goes over the shoulder or back or... yeah. :S PRICE CHECK ME.
Current Funds: $10

I would say that's possible. I think the owners would let people take a mix and match of candy depending on the type.

Hard brand name small candies (M&Ms, Skittles, Reese's Pieces, etc.) = 4.00$ a pound
Gummy types (worms, bears, sour candies) = 3.00$ a pound
Hard no-brand candies (candy corns, starlites, etc.) = 2.50$ a pound?

Does that seem reasonable?

Character: James T. Kirk [livejournal.com profile] doneinthree
Requested Item(s): Waist pouch and/or wrist strap
Current Funds: $10
Do you need a NPC mod for this transaction?: N

I'd like to know if it's possible to find a small utility bag you could attach to a belt (looks like this). If that's not available or would be out of Kirk's price range, could he find something like a wrist lanyard? Fairly sturdy, maybe like this. :|a

Whoo $4.50?! Great! Thanks!

He can apparently get a pack like this (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=toy+soldiers&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=OaN&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&prmd=ivns&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=11876272601625317030&sa=X&ei=4y7QTamALIumvQO0z6ieCg&ved=0CI8BEPMCMAc&biw=1440&bih=720#) for about 3$? 40pc in what looks like white, tan and the usual green with several different poses.

If not, a 50pc set would be about 5.00$ all uniform green and the standard poses, slightly higher quality.

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2011-05-15 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure! That'd probably be a dollar.
