To everyone in the giant thread of DOOM~

As some of you are probably already aware, Farfarello - in a demonstration of the lack of common sense he and Schuldig share - has gotten pissy and thrown a pen at Rufus' face. Although for Farfie this is a positively restrained expression of dislike, I have been told by Rose (whom I assume has spoken to Melanthe) that Reno is likely to object. With his gun. :X

Even before I knew whether or not Reno was going to shoot at Farfie, Schuldig's kneejerk reaction was to be to 1) reprimand Farfarello, and 2) interpose himself between Farfarello and Reno/Rufus, both to deter Farfie from any further aggressive action and to reassure Reno that no further aggressive action would be forthcoming(and that thus there is no need to shoot at Schwarz plz kthx). He certainly has no intentions of taking a bullet for Farfarello - after all, Farfie is usually the tank - but if Reno shoots, it looks like that's the way things might work out. I hadn't really planned on Schu getting shot (GOD DOESN'T HE HAVE ENOUGH PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW XD ) but I've got no particular objections to the possibility, either.

Basically, I want to know a couple things from those of you I haven't had the chance to talk to personally yet - one, are any characters (those who go before Reno, at least, which I think is - only Rufus and Crawford) going to take any steps that will prevent this? Melanthe, is Reno going to shoot? (Like I said, Rose told me about it in such a way that I assumed she'd gotten confirmation from you on this point, but if not - or if Schu's getting in the way will make Reno rethink his shot - lemme know.) Does anyone OOCly have any objections to/problems with this? I'm not so much hugely invested in this idea as I am merely seeing it as the inevitable result of IC actions at this point, so if there are any issues I'm totally fine with arranging things so that the end result is more favorable to everyone.

Rufus will try to tell Reno not to shoot for what it's worth, but it may be a kneejerk reaction for Reno. That's going to have to be Mel's call there on if Reno will stop long enough for Rufus telling him not to shoot to matter.

BTW, given what just happened, is it okay if Reno goes first? As he'll be blocking the pen and stuffs. :3 Since Reno won't be shooting anyone, regardless of whether Rufus gets through to him in time or not. XD XD

If you need Rufus to go before Reno, though, that works too, and feel free to incorporate/hint at Reno blocking the pen-weapon. ^_^ FARF NEEDS TO MEET SASUKE AND MAKE FRIENDS.

Also remember that if a shot goes out, Schu has the trigger, which is the only thing that can make River combat effective right now. She would want and automatically think strongly for him to use it if need be.

I'd like River to be able to do whatever she can to prevent it. She'd take a bullet/tackle him out of the way if need be. Getting shot would really be a lot at once for him, wouldn't it? Because, you know, she already feels bad enough for being the cause of this AND THE ANGST ON HER END WOULD CONSUME ME. But, you know, it's really up to everyone. And you especially.

I would just really like to keep her as a part of the thread and have something of an impact on what goes down. And mayhaps let her do something for him in return? Because I fear the angst. Oh, I fear the angst. And she feels like she owes him something for all this stuff anyway beyond their original deal.

THO, if he does get shot and this is what you would rather have happen, she's been around Simon a lot and is a receptive telepath and all that jazz. She could ttly play doctor at least and bark out orders. XD

Awwww. <3 That's so sweet~ Unless we change the posting order, though, it'd be kind of hard to work out her getting him out of the way/her getting IN the way, since it'd be a very weird setup order-wise without it.

I know what you mean about her having an impact on what goes on, too. <3 Trust me, if Schu goes down, he's going to be all but begging her to keep Farfie and Crawford under control - which means she gets to order them around. XD Basically, he knows they'd both freak but very much does not want them doing something stupid like, say, charging Reno while Reno's still got the gun. And then she can give them instructions about fixing Schu up as well. XD

As for River preventing it in some way, we can discuss it further if you think she'd have enough time to react~ Schu doesn't want her taking a bullet for him any more than she wants him getting shot, though, so there's going to be angst either way. D:

I imagine it wouldn't be too hard just to switch it up if it was okay with everyone. I imagine it's just something to be discussed.

I just wish she could do something, and she wishes too, considering there's a big rift between Schu and his employer and everything. I guess we'll have to wait and make sure that's what Melanthe would have Reno do, but I at least want her to have some impact. She'll get all official and serious business and SCARY to make sure no one freaks out. XD

Hm, she could do it because she'll see it coming? Old River would've been able to rush Reno before it happened and potentially take him down before it even happened or knock the pen out of the air with one of her own. As one of my big stipulations with Sane!River being that her combat reflexes aren't as honed unless she's triggered, she would be able to react but not skillfully enough. You know, maybe drop Farfie (FOR HIS OWN GOOD) and tackle Schu or something. I DUNNO. But there's a chance! And River sez she can take a bullet better than anyone! XD

I haven't spoken with Melanthe, no. It's more a case of making my post for Farf and my brain going "ohgodwhyFarfwhyareyousocrazy?" and not being able to imagine Reno NOT firing off a few rounds at Farf's head. But as everyone has already said, it's totally up to Melanthe, and everything else depends on what she says.

And for anyone who is concerned, yes the pen is completely and utterly dodge-able. Stay pretty, Rufus! Stay pretty!

Hey, were this not so serious, River might be amused. Earlier in the game, she killed a giant spider with a pen. And later she stabbed Kadaj with one when he was torturing Elena. And before all of this, in canon, she killed on her doctors in the facility with a pen.

They can form a club, and their slogan can be "The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword." *bricked*

Rufus is about ready to go shoot himself in the head right now since everything he said got either ignored or completely misunderstood. I wasn't aware Elena was in the room and thus able to hear anything he said since he wasn't shouting. He was completely and utterly calm about it all. All he stated in terms of Elena is that she isn't the one from his timeline and thus would be unaffected by anything he did once they all get back to their own timelines in regards to what Schuldig said about him screwing up the Turks. That is what has Rufus (and me) rather frustrated since nothing was really said by Rufus at all about the Elena of Landel's.

Anywho, Reno will probably not shoot for the sole reason that shooting Farf does nothing to stop the fact that there's a pen flying at Rufus. If Farf was the one coming at Rufus, he'd probably shoot, but as it is, he's going to be too busy trying to.....get in the way of that projectile. Which means he'll end up with a hole in the palm of his hand. DX;; And between the time of him trying to dislodge a pen from his hand and focusing back onto Farf again, Reno will likely have gotten enough of a grip on himself to not automatically fire a bullet even if he really really wants to. :3 Since he doesn't want this deal getting any more out of hand than it already has.

So, yeah. XD Short of it is, Farf is safe for now. XD;;

Yeah, Farf had no desire to go after Rufus himself, mainly because he would fall over trying (he doesn't have THAT much energy left, with the blood loss), and probably land face-first somewhere... inappropriate, considering the fact that people are still somewhat NAKED and all. So, pen-throwing. ^^;

Oh, hell no. ^^; Certainly not with Farf in the condition he's in already. Normally, he'd just be his usual tank self and take whatever shots were aimed for any of Schwarz, but he has precious little blood left right now!

Nah, that's fine. :D I personally thought Reno shooting over a pen - no matter how dangerously thrown - was a little odd, but Rose made it sound like it was a definite thing so I thought you'd made a judgment call. :X
