Apologies for mod slowness! + # apps read

Hey, guys! As you might have noticed, we've been kind of... sucking at changing the shift and getting through the apps because, you know, holidays and friends and relatives and Christmas gifts and general distractions and all that. :(

ANYWAY! Just letting you know we haven't completely forgotten what's going on, but we can't do the shift change until we work out all the visitor stuff and how we're going to organize the shifts, which might take a couple more days.

Also, some of you might have been watching the updates on how many apps we've read over on the applications list, but since that post is pretty old by now and we want to better publicize that there's a way to keep track of the process, we're going to keep it updated here instead:

I don't know if you lovely mods asked anyone else to re-do parts of their otherwise acceptable app-- but if you asked for, say, a personality re-write XD;; , would you read the re-write ASAP or wait until you read through all the completed apps before tackling modified stuff?

Just from experience, when I had to do a re-write, it was a while later that I heard back about it. Not that I had to do a re-write before or anything, but I would guess they had to go through the others first then go back for re-writes? ;D

I had to do a rewrite once. It took a month to get a response that I needed to do a rewrite at all so I'd guess they went through all the apps before 1. deciding if you needed to do one and 2. getting back to you on it.

That was before the "send-apps-out-as-they-decide" went into effect though, so I'm not sure if that still works now.

Though I see people are speculating on how the rewrite review works in the comments above, we really don't have a set process. 8D; We ask for rewrites as we decide we need them, which could take a short amount of time or a long amount of time depending on how acceptable we think the app otherwise is; sometimes debating between a rewrite and a rejection can take a while, and sometimes we figure things out pretty quickly. Whether or not we need a second opinion can also play into how long it takes--it really just depends.

Getting back to you on a rewrite is pretty much the same deal: Sometimes we read it immediately and then get back to people pretty quickly with approval/disapproval, sometimes we don't read it until we've read a few more full apps, or sometimes we read it immediately and it then takes us a while to decide whether or not we approve of the revisions.

So yeah! I can't discuss the current status on your app in public comments, of course, so I can't give you a concrete response, but that's the gist of how the process works. So basically... it all depends! I can't really promise anything. D: Sorry!

Honestly, it's probably for the best that shift changes are coming slowly, since a lot of us are also tied up with the holidays and wouldn't have been able to contribute much to our threads if we'd been on a regular dayshift schedule.

So lolol don't worry about slowness; a great many of us would've fallen behind if we were attempting a faster pace.

I looked over my app and realized, that, while I listed one email address as my contact, I SENT THE APP FROM MY OTHER ADDRESS. I feel rather stupid now. I hope this isn't a severe problem... It doesn't really matter which address is used, though I would prefer the one that I listed in the app as the one that is used to tell me if I have been rejected or accepted.

I'd like to sincerely apologize for how long we've been taking; this app cycle happened to fall on the holidays, which is full of a lot of distractions and, ironically, Court and I have an easier time getting things done when we're in the middle of the school year. Not an excuse, as I understand it's our responsibility as mods to get back to everyone in a timely fashion, but at least a reason.

In any case, tonight is the night that we get back into the regular swing of things, so that means app-reading and e-mail writing and hopefully, your app in particular will be reviewed and responded to within the week.
