Okay, so, lotsa updates to make!


Inactivity:
We've sent out inactivity e-mails to anyone who has a character who hasn't posted in two weeks (give or take a day). (Yours truly included. T_T;) (Remember, posting exclusively to damned_bulletin does not count as being active. Only your posts in landels_damned count towards how active your character is.) We basically want to make sure that no new applicants are locked out of playing who they want.

Players and NPC mods involved in M-U, please make sure to get in contact with the person/people you'll be threading with. Basically, we're hoping that the NPC mods and the players will work out what they want to happen during experimentation (in terms of powers being messed with and stuff, or if you want it to be straightforward psychological creepiness or whathaveyou), but before you actually start the thread, you need to make sure you run your ideas by either me or Court and get the stamp of mod approval.

If your character got M-U but you don't want them to go through with it, no sweat. Just comment here and we'll randomize another eligible character in their place. :3 (We're also going to be adding a section about M-U to damned_info and clarify the Special Counseling entry to curb confusion.)


ATTN ALL NPC AND DOCTOR MODS:
NPC mods and damned_doctors players, I think it'd be best if we all sat in a chat (or a friends-locked entry somewhere) together and clarified stuff about the plot so that we could make sure we're all consistent with what we write, and perhaps us main mods get some suggestions from you guys about the vaguer aspects of the plot we've been slowly forming. (Credit to theladyfeylene to working with us on that. <3) If that makes sense. 8D;;; COMMENT WITH YOUR INPUT ON A MEETING PLACE AND TIMES YOU MIGHT BE AVAILABLE, PLZ.


Regarding the Landel's Valentine's Dance Idea:
Very cool idea and very plausible in terms of what the Institute would do... but unfortunately, due to the fact that we currently have so many other, more dire things that need to get done first, it'd probably be too much of a hassle in terms of organization to get done. :/ Sorryy.... It's not necessarily impossible, but... yeah. DX


Regarding the Landel's Wiki Idea:
I have mixed feelings about this--on one hand, it'd take a ton of time and overseeing to get it going and keep it going, and the fact that it'd rely on the contributions of players could make it a hassle to keep it organized despite everyone's good intentions. Plus, we'd have to make sure to add a section about it to the rules, and make certain contributions for particular characters mandatory while making other things optional, which might end up in some pages being more detailed than others, not to mention the fact that in terms of putting up rules and guidelines there, we'd have to make sure we edited things both there and in damned_info, which... might end up with contradictory facts after a while.

But on the other hand, the search and tagging feature might make it a way more efficient place to store all the rules and guidelines and information in general, plus, although there's the risk of official information getting messed with, I trust all of you enough to follow whatever rules we set about which pages can be edited/created and which are off-limits. <3 Wikis do provide perhaps a better place for all of our default information pages to be to begin with, and there's much more capacity for good organization in the sidebar menu.

In short.... I think it's a really excellent idea if executed correctly. :) Big kudos to firefly99 for thinking it up. In fact, I've already registered a page on a free wiki service here. I've set the wiki to be edited only by people who get invites, but thankfully, there's an easy "Apply to be a Writer" button on the front page, so it'll be easy for you guys to get access and for us to make sure you're legit players and approve you. XD

So... although it's probably best if you guys hold off from actually writing anything, it's best if you start applying to write there soon, so we can approve everyone who needs approval. XD; If that makes sense.


Regarding damned_visitors:
We're still not sure exactly how this is going to work out tomorrow (Landel's tomorrow, not RL tomorrow), but one thing so far is for certain: Each player may only choose ONE of their characters to have ONE visitor. (Unless it's an adult and a small child, as small children visiting would be disallowed otherwise.) Sorry, but it's the only way we can possibly keep things manageable, so start pondering over which character you're going to choose. ;)


The results of the VERY IMPORTANT POLL:
First morning shift shall be four RL days long! Regular day shifts shall be three RL days long! And as for nightshift....

...Dear god, that particular poll was far too close for comfort. 8D Although 2 RL weeks got ONE more vote than 3 RL weeks, the neck-in-neck results lead us to believe that it'd be best to do a separate, newer poll with only those two options and see how the votes turn out. (Since if you factor in the one-week vote as a two-week vote, and the two two-month votes as three-week votes.... it's still tied up. XD;)

Either a chat or a friends locked entry would work. There's plusses and minuses to either. Personally, I can see the friends-locked entry getting buried, and overall discussion and getting things set out straight would be a lot slower, not to mention possibly messier.

Alternatively, it might be easier to do that, in case we all don't have the same times that we can be online for a chat.

I've had a question I've been meaning to ask in regards to Crane, anyway, and it'd probably be a good idea to understand all this stuff first, so...whatever is decided works for me. I know I haven't really been online that much lately, but I will.

As for times, I'm at school from 7AM to 3PM M-F, with no real computer time anymore, and as such a student, I shouldn't be on my computer any later than 10:30 Sun-Th. Friday nights, however, are pretty much free, as are Saturday nights. XD''

It's a very good thing that only one of my characters has any real family to speak of, huh? *laughs* Here's hoping that the Damned Visitors thing works out well.

As for the Doctor/NPC Mod thing? I suggest a locked entry in either damned_lounge or damned_doctors. AIM can get very confusing at times, and with the text limit it would only be even moreso. That, and for those who aren't online at the same time (or who have family that will randomly drag them off), it won't be delayed for fifty million years.

On the topic of the Wiki... no one else understands my characters! My artistic vision! If I do not do it, no one else will be able to! *goes on and on in a tl;dr manner*

Anyway. 8D I'm normally flexible when it comes to contact, but given how this semester's gone so far I don't think I'll be on as much. If mod discussions need to happen I think in a locked LJ entry would be best, at least in terms of my own participation. I can't guarantee extended sitting-at-the-computer time anymore.

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH, though, on Mon/Weds/Fri I'm in class 1:30-4:30(ish). Mondays I'm almost entirely unavailable at night; I have a lab from 6:30-11:30 pm. I have no clue how often we'll stop early, but I don't want to count on it. Tues/Thurs I'm out from 9:00AM-2:00pm. Anything excluding those hours is workable for me(though I'm jobhunting, so I don't know how long that will last). If you really need me, send me an e-mail(hexisea[at]gmail[dot]com) because I check that even when I'm just on the computer for a moment.

I don't think Hojo will participate in the visitors thing. Make it easier on you guys(and me, ssh).

Just thought I would contribute real quick here:

If we wanted to make the dance last for longer than just a shift, I didn't actually mean it necessarily had to be a Valentine's Day thing. I'd completely forgotten Valentine's Day was coming up when I typed up that post, actually. XD

I think it would still be plausible for the hospital to just have it whenever, just as a sort of social get-together thing, right? Maybe after a new batch of patients comes in, a kind of get-to-know your fellow patients thing. And of course when you mods have some free time. :o

What I'm saying is, it can wait. XD The comments turned it into a Valentine's Day idea, which was nifty, but if we wanted to hold off until there was more time to plan it, that's cool too. ♥
