Keep in mind this isn't the list of accepted applications, just the applications we've received thus far. (If we receive multiple applications for the same character, we'll put the number of different applications in parenthesis after the character's name.) If you don't see your character on this list and you know you sent your app in by the time stamp, don't hesitate to comment and let us know so we can sort out any problems! :3

APPS ARE NOW CLOSED.

Note: Court and I have bit the bullet this time and have already gone through most of the apps in the interest of saving time and getting our decisions out ASAP once the apps have closed. HOWEVER, as we have no idea if new apps for a character we've already marked accepted will come in or not, (or if people retract their applications or other mitigating circumstances like that), we won't be giving out our official e-mails until a few days after the apps have closed, all in one big batch. Just letting you know we're definitely on top of this one. ;) Basically, although we've gone over the apps we have so far, our decisions are NOT YET FINAL! SO SEND AWAY! XD

ALSO! We realize the two month wait (although necessary for us to be able to handle all the applications) is a real killer, we're thinking of implementing a system where the apps that get rejected (and whose character doesn't get taken by someone else) can re-apply a couple of weeks after being rejected, so that they don't have to wait as painstakingly long to app again. I dunno; on one hand, we don't want to make people wait so long, but on the other... we're only human and can only handle so much. T_T;

Anyway, we're handling things pretty well at the moment, so... yay! :D

Edit: In case you're wondering why we're allowing in original characters, we changed the rules so that they can get apped, but only by players who've had a character for four months or more. XD; Just FYI.

Edit-Edit: Okay, so OCs may not be allowed after all! Please vote and voice your opinions in the post above.

Totally not thrilled about the idea of a bunch of OCs showing up, but whatevs. Looks like we have a bunch of good non-OCs apped this period.

I'm not really into allowing OCs in Landel's either, but only because they're not entirely necessary. I mean, this place is bursting at the seams with a different variety of characters, and you're already allowing them to come from every single copyrighted orifice known to man. So yeah, it's just my opinion though. DX

XD Totally understandable (I'm pretty iffy on OCs myself) and although I wanted to figure out a fair way to make everyone happy, maybe a poll with would be the best way to see how people stand on the subject, although I'd feel bad for the one person who sent theirs in. D: But what can I say--if people in general don't want it, then we in general shouldn't have it.

Daw. Well, Brenda does have a point, but I'm kind of intrested to see how someone would handle an OC in Landel's. It looks like there's only one so far anyway, and for some reason I don't think there will be that many people willing to app OCs in any case (since there's practically no limit on fandoms, anyway) sooo...ALL THIS BLABBING just saying I'm curious to see how it will all work out. XD;

Yeah, like I said to Lin: Good arguments for it, good arguments against it, so I'm starting to come to the conclusion that maybe I jumped the gun with trying to make everyone happy and that a poll would be the best thing to settle things. (Though to be fair, the mods are allowed to reject an OC app solely on the fact that they think the character isn't interesting enough or seems indulgent or whatnot... of course, the prospect of telling someone that their baby isn't good enough for the RP is a pretty harsh one, so.... yeah. XD; I'm thinking poll might be the best way to go.)

But yeah, I don't have a problem with OCs in Landels because of the nature of the game. Since everyone's powers are dumbed down, this counts for OCs too and you don't have that power issue with the OCs being more powerful than the fandom characters, because... everyone is a loser in this game. Really, the only problem is the player behind the OC portraying the character badly, and this problem exists with fandom characters as well.

If the rest of the players don't want OCs, then it's really no loss to the game anyway. I just really don't see a problem with it because if the OC is causing a problem godmoding, you can kick them out the same way you kick out fandom characters caught godmoding.

Though I don't think a lot of people would app OCs anyway simply because of the stigma attached to them; no one likes OCs in fandom-oriented games. XDDD

You've got some good points there, yeah. I'm sort of of the opinion (which is probably kinda self-serving >_>) that I'm okay with OCs so long as I'm totally in charge of which get in and which stay out, since some of their characterizations really need some work... but at the same time, that puts me (and Court) in the position of having to tell someone that their baby isn't up to snuff. :/ Which could either end in someone's feelings being hurt even more than with a regular rejection, or with someone getting indignant and feeling that our opinions are too subjective, which they might be, but... you know. We gotta be the mean mods, sometimes. :/

Anyway, here's the poll. :D Although I'm still debating on how I'm going to vote myself. XD;
