On the drop bandwagon

Yes, after much deliberation, I have come to the heart-breaking decision to drop von Karma. The odds have been stacked against me since I started, mostly due to lack of time (*shakes fist at work schedule and lack of access to a computer for personal use at work*). It's not fair to you guys if the most I can regularly do is maybe one post every other day on average.

Furthermore... as much as I adore this crotchety old sociopath (god help me! XD ), I just don't feel that I have been playing him quite right in this setting. He has the potential to be super awesome at Landel's -- in the hands of the right player. I am sad to say that I am not that player; I just don't have what it takes to make him as much of a magnificent bastard as he was in the game.

He will remain at Landel's through the end of the upcoming Night Shift (backthreading if necessary), as he has some... unfinished business with Edgeworth, let's just say. XD After that... erm... I don't really want to kill him off, but having him just disappear seems kinda anticlimactic. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Also, Ireny, were you up for another dinner thread with him? I'm hoping that he can get certain info out of Javert (I will email you about the specifics shortly), but if not, that's fine, too. ^_^

In any case, I'm doing this now before the upcoming app cycle so that someone else who can handle him better and has more time to do so can app him. And... a huge thanks to everyone for giving me a chance here, especially to those with whom I threaded -- you all are awesome! <3333 (Especially my canonmates, who are nothing short of fantabulous. <33333 ) Please keep up the excellent work, all of you!

Awww, I'm really sad to see you go, but I do understand that time constraints are the devil and that he is an awfully tough character to write for. BUT, you shouldn't ever say you weren't playing him right. 8| And I have no idea how you managed to write him so well (in a horror setting that PW has no real canon basis for) when you always seem so busy IRL. ;A; You're just amazing like that.

It was wonderful playing with you, and while I hope you'll consider coming back (whether it's with this pup or another), RL comes first. Please take care! ♥

Yes, it's been challenging to play him in the Landel's setting, where his courtroom tactics... don't quite work so well. XD; I just don't have the subtle guile that he does, which would be uber-important for someone who has no interest in making friends, only henchmen whom he would have no compunctions over tossing away once they have outlived their usefulness to them. ;) If he had the superficial extroverted charm that Gant does, it would be much easier for him to gather possible allies here, where it takes much more than insults and finger snaps to persuade others to do what he wants. XD For that reason, I think that Gant would have been much easier to play in this setting (and here's a nightmarish thought to break everyone's brains: Gant boisterously offering to join in the tag game in progress... 0_0;; ).

Ahem, anyway... XD But yeah... that aside, the time issue is also one that I don't see changing anytime soon. D: Having to spend so much time in backthreads is a bane to brand new players who are just breaking in their guys, which was also a reason I was struggling at certain points. This game is very involved and detailed and deserves much more time than I can devote to it at the present... hopefully that may change sometime down the road.

And who knows? If things should change later on, maybe Gumshoe will get another chance to "arrest" his perp. ;D Speaking of which, I'm sorry that they didn't get more thread time with each other here, but I agree, it's been a blast playing with you and the rest of the PW cast. :D You guys are truly amazing. <3

Aww, I'm sorry to see you go. D: You were an awesome von Karma, but I totally get the lack of time. I really hope you'll consider coming back with either him or someone else if you ever find the time for it.

Awww, thank you. <333 He's very challenging for me to carry off in this setting for the reasons I said in my reply to Grace, and I just didn't feel that I could maintain keeping him IC for too much longer right now. ^_^;;

And yeah, the lack of time totally bites. D: No thanks to it, I haven't gotten nearly as much play time in as I would have liked to by now. (Also, sorry I never got to thread with you, or so many others with whom I wanted to. D: ) Hopefully, that may change somewhere down the road, so we'll see. ^_^ I certainly would love to come back if my situation should change, and until then, I'll be keeping tabs on you guys. :D
