Visitors for Day 36

It's that time of the year week again!

VISITORS.

If you want your character to get a visitor (a family/friend from their "real" life who looks/acts nearly identically to someone from their canon who isn't already at Landel's) tomorrow in-game, fill out the poll below. (The visitor can also be a "rehabilitated" character who was previously at Landel's.)

The guidelines are simple:
You can only have one of your characters get visited; it can be any of your characters, and if you've had a character get visited before, you can have a different one do it this time if you want or you can stick with the old one. You can choose a different visitor this time too, if you want to. \o/ Basically, you get to choose what you want. That wasn't redundant. You may also choose for your character to get a small group of visitors, but only if the NPC mod would be able to realistically handle it; multiple characters getting one visitor is okay too.

However, we encourage you not to get your character visited if you don't have any solid idea of who would visit them or if you just aren't into the whole idea in general. We're going to have a bunch of characters who need visitors and we only have so many NPC mods to go around; they'll be stretched thinner if there are more people to cater to, which will lead to slower posting for everyone. Still, don't let this dissuade you if you have been looking forward to this! ♥

Enter in the text below something along these lines: [Character you want to get visited], by [Character visiting them] (Relationship to Character)

We'll leave this poll open for a few days and then the NPC mods will claim who they want to NPC for based on the fandoms they know. We also might be recruiting some players, but only if we need to. :X

FAQ

Q: What's the policy on other players [non-NPC mods] playing visitors?
A: We let players help with visitor threads if a fandom is obscure/no NPC mod knows it, we're short on NPC mods, or if the player has a player in mind who they really want to play out the thread with.

Q: Can you ask for a visitor if your character is currently on hiatus? I'll be putting him back out there at the beginning of dayshift, but I want to check if that's a problem.
A: So long as your character will be back during the visitor dayshift, you may request a visitor, yes!

Q: Is it possible to ask for the same visitor? Or one where the other visitor would come from the same "universe" as the first visitor, so the stories they have would match.
A: Yup, you can have the exact same visitor you had the first time as you have this time, and all subsequent visitors should have matching stories about your character's "real" life.

Q: I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to make a special guest appearance and play their old character (now dropped) for me. Would this be an issue since they're not in the game anymore?
A: We've actually done this before with an old mun coming back to NPC their now-dropped character in a visitor thread; since they played the same incarnation of the character in the game, it's fine if a former player comes back for NPC duties.

I know it may not be acceptable for me to be asking this so soon since.. well, she hasn't even voted in the poll yet, but Elisabeth (Meche-mun) has asked if I can write the visitor she's going to request (the visitor himself is from Grim Fandango). Is it okay for me to write her visitor? Even though I'm not an NPC mod? :< If it isn't then I guess I can't argue, I'm just not sure what the policy is.

You don't have to be, anyone can get the damned_visitors password. I did last time! ^^ It's kind of unavoidable when some canons are a little obscure. Or very obscure.

I hope it's okay to go ahead and ask...but what's the policy on other players playing visitors? If it helps the NPC mods from being spread too thin, I'd like to request Anduin to play Matsuda's visitor. If not, that's fine, too. I was just wondering.

Emi's apping Shinichi, but I was hoping that Heiji could be visited by Conan or Shinichi before she intros him if she gets him. If Shinichi's already in the building, though, I want to default to Artemis being visited by... someone. Haven't thought about it much. ^^;; So should I note that Heiji will be getting a visit, or hold off for now or...? D:

We've actually done this before with our old Solid Snake-mun coming back to NPC him in a visitor thread; since she played the same incarnation of the character in the game, it's fine if she comes back for NPC duties. :3

I'm pretty sure none of the mods are familiar with the Rockman canon, but just FYI, I did type up a (possible?) patient history here (http://runner-up-robot.livejournal.com/4324.html) that would help with whoever does roleplay his visitor.

We'll let the NPC mod know, though we usually collect all the visitors that NPC mods can't play and put them up for the comm to offer NPC services if they can. So hopefully someone in the game knows the canon? :X

XD I happen to play both of them, actually... in a certain game with a friend, Godo and Yuffie have gotten into SUCH epic shouting matches that we've had to bring someone else in to end it, because they could seriously have gone on for hours!
