Update for the Pale Man!

So, I have gotten my hands onto a little thing called the Pan's Labyrinth DVD, ut the one with all the special crap. You know.

In it were DVD comics on some of the creatures that appear in the film. As a consequence of seeing the one on the Pale Man, I have done two things:

He doesn't have the gold dagger--I assume miss Ofelia still has it, or the Faun, and consequently, he "died" and came to Landels. He's got his sword and his appetite still.

The Question

How innocent is your character? That, rather than age, will determine how inclined the Pale Man is to go after the character. Those characters with an awful lot of sin probably won't appeal to him at all, but of course, it's all a matter of perspective... Let me know!

Hmm.

Riku may have repented, but he did still repent, and if anything, he's got all that partial darkside stuff that Ansem likes to poke around in, leading me to conclude that he's not particularly innocent and definitely not PM's first choice.

Fayt, hmmm. I want to rule that murder=not innocent, period, but I'm about to make an exception for Haku. So, I guess, did he want to do it, what are his feelings on the matter, etc?

For that matter, Goku as well? I'm a bit familiar with the first seven volumes of the Saiyuki manga, and I would think him innocent even with the youkai killing, especially because they're all mad and trying to kill him...

Hmm, those moments could also be considered has having necessarily removed his innocence? You know, the loss of innocence, oh that literary theme, having to face the world... but again, you'd think that'd count for a guy like Haku, but the series from which he derives likes to tell us that he's totally pure, despite the bloodshed.

Hmm. Blah, I'm torn. XD. Goku also does it in self defense, I think, or out of necessity. He's... relatively innocent? As is Fayt? .. hn.

Mm, I agree. I think that the fact that he WAS able to hurt his heart in the past and kill for Zabuza makes him less than pure. But I also think that he was hurt by it does enable him to retain some of his innocence.

Yeah! XD Fayt wouldn't be his first choice, nor would Goku, and Haku would be a BIT more. PM just wants 'em innocent, I'm not sure demon or human makes a difference.
