Update for the Pale Man!

So, I have gotten my hands onto a little thing called the Pan's Labyrinth DVD, ut the one with all the special crap. You know.

In it were DVD comics on some of the creatures that appear in the film. As a consequence of seeing the one on the Pale Man, I have done two things:

Screen-Caps of the Pale Man's DVD Comic

Unchanging
He doesn't have the gold dagger--I assume miss Ofelia still has it, or the Faun, and consequently, he "died" and came to Landels. He's got his sword and his appetite still.

The Question

How innocent is your character? That, rather than age, will determine how inclined the Pale Man is to go after the character. Those characters with an awful lot of sin probably won't appeal to him at all, but of course, it's all a matter of perspective... Let me know!

[identity profile] held.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
... holy.

well, kairi is never leaving her room ever again. she's pure as pure can be.

[identity profile] jei.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahahahaha. Farf's innocence is so long gone, man. He murdered his adopted family when he was six. It's been all downhill since then. <3

Omg PALE MAN CREEPY!!!

*ahem*

Ginji ([livejournal.com profile] repolarization) is 'innocent' but he also got a lot of history that he feels taints him. Still, he has naive views of the world and of people and is purer than he believes. I dunno. I mean, he's killed people and he was the leader of a gang AND he has a part of his personality that is sadistic and such. I would still call him innocent though, maybe that's not the right word, but it's close enough.

Zabuza ([livejournal.com profile] be_my_tool) is not innocent, but if you go after Haku he'll have to try to kill you and that could be messy.

Naoe ([livejournal.com profile] faithful_dog) is also not innocent.

Elfangor ([livejournal.com profile] flash_of_blue) I wouldn't call innocent either. He's noble and has morals, but he's seen, done, been through to much to be called innocent.

[identity profile] at-patera.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
...

Wow. None of my characters are particularly innocent/pure/holy/whatever. At all. Kimbley's a psychopath, Crawford's a megalomaniac, Chase's an evil overlord, and Caim's ... uh ... well, he's kind of insane, but in a stabby way. Which is totally different than normal insane. Really.

Let's not even get into Pyramid Head, but he's not really someone the Pale Man would go after anyway. I bet they play poker though.

Hm... LOL I might actually be almost out of the woods here!

Naminé has the whole memory manipulation of Sora. She basically messed up his entire childhood so that he would come see her, although she fixed that later. She was never evil but rather forced to do evil things, so I'm not sure if that counts against her or not.

Penelo is pretty innocent, she never did much in FF12. XD;

Luke... ah, I can't say what he did for spoiler reasons, but he has quite a bit of blood on his hands so I'm pretty sure he's not an innocent at all. XD;

Hmm...

Takaya is innocent SHOCKING I KNOW, but Kagetora isn't. THat whole warlord thing and his subsequent CRAZY have preety much made him very NOT innocent.

Haku is called innocent and is believed by everyone he meets to BE innocent, but he doesn't think he is. He's not a virgin, he murdered his BLOOD family (take that farf!) when he was like five, he's been an assasin for the past eight to ten years, and is pretty sadistic. But he's still uber nice and can summon cute forest critters to him like snow white, only without the singing... So, TOTAL INNOCENT!! ♥

Faust isn't innocent, in the strictest terms, but he has a "pure heart". It's what gave him so much strength during the Shaman King trials. Of course, he's a killer and INSANELIKEWHOA, so... he's another character that can go either way I suppose...

Wow, I didn't make that easy at all...

Don't think either Kasady ([livejournal.com profile] perfect_meld) or Sanzo ([livejournal.com profile] 31st_of_china are too innocent, so I guess they're somewhat safe?

[identity profile] theladyfeylene.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] lustful_thing: Not innocent in the least. She's seduced, killed, manipulated...

[livejournal.com profile] felled_hero: Not innocent. He has killed in the line of duty, he's guilty of treason, he's technically cheating on his wife....

[livejournal.com profile] the_clown_king: Pretty damn innocent. He thinks getting to second base is utterly pornographic. His fantasies don't even involve sex, and he's had all of one real kiss in his entire life. He's all about purity and nobleness and....yeah.

[livejournal.com profile] ontheabyss: Not innocent. She's a terrorist, she's killed a lot of people, she's very open about her sexuality....

[livejournal.com profile] notmyfather: Relatively innocent. He killed his own father, but it was in self defense and as a last ditch effort - he had no other options.

[livejournal.com profile] reanalyze: Um. Nothing innocent there at all. He's guilty of more sins than I can even list off the top of my head.

[identity profile] moon-brained.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Usagi is innocent and trusting and EVERYTHING SHE SHOULD NOT BE IN A PLACE LIKE THIS. But she's totally done it with Mamoru already and C'MON at least played around with the girls before he got with her bow chika .

[identity profile] tartaros-avatar.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Recluse is a complete Evil Bastard.

HK is a complete Psychotic Maniac.

Yes, both of those deserve capital letters.

Um... I think they're safe >>;;

[identity profile] bondofflame.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHAHA. Hmmm.

Axel(Kingdom Hearts): I doubt he has much innocence in him, considering what the purpose of Org. XIII is.

Renge(Ouran Highschool Host Club): ... I don't know. Rabid Otakus are pretty sinful creatures. 8D; *KILLED*

Larsa: (Final Fantasy XII): Is probably the one I'm most worried about. He grew up with the protection of his brother, father and the Judge Magisters he was entrusted to. Because of that, he's a Pacifist by nature, and has the mind of an Idealist when it comes to seeing a world made of peace. A lot of the times he doesn't act his age, but his innocence and naivety does shine through many times. PLUS I believe he's the second youngest character here. DX So yes. *flails*

ILU PALE MAN.

Compared to a lot of other shinobi, Naruto is pretty innocent. At the same time, he is the inventor of naked woman jutsu. I guess it's your call, Jules. XD

Yaaay, another one of these things to do. XD Am I sick in loving answering these questions? (W-well, it makes me think about the character from different perspectives, yeah?)

Usopp... I'd give a 7 out of 10 for innocence. XD;; He's a chronic liar but rarely intends to cause real harm from it. If he's killed anybody, he doesn't know it (as a result of sinking an enemy ship, for example) but he'd probably kill someone if he thought there was a good enough reason. He's been known to trick his enemies in battle to defeat them (rather than noble manly combat of strength!) He is a virgin. He pulls pranks and once peeked on his female crewmates in the bathroom (only because of PEER PRESSURE) and... yeah. Not pure as fallen snow, but pretty pure when it comes to big stuff.

Well, Artemis (in my opinion, really. XD) is one scary 14-year-old. In the first book, he pretty much doesn't care what happens to anyone--as long as he gets his way. But by the fifth book (where I've taken him from), he's renounced a criminal life and has dedicated himself to using his skills to help people. Granted, he's no saint, but he doesn't disregard people like he used to.

Y'know, he's pretty much the anti-Harry Potter, come to think of it. >_> If you need more info, my description of Artemis is up on the Wiki. ^^

[identity profile] clippedherwings.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Tifa // [livejournal.com profile] somekinda_lady is, uh, fairly innocent? She's got a pure heart, but she's also killed many people, both innocent and guilty.

Claire // [livejournal.com profile] claire_ity is a goody goody. Well, she hasn't really done anything wrong - she's a golden girl most of the time and tends to be all heroic, but on the other hand this is also the girl who crippled a boy. Not that he didn't deserve it, and she felt really bad about it, but still. She's still one of the pure hearted gals, though.

Princess Garnet // [livejournal.com profile] clippedherwings out of all my characters, Pale Man would probably prefer her. She's pure and innocent and young and just begging to be attacked by him. XD;

Okay stupid, post it in the right place this time...gah.

Innocent? What's innocent?

That is to say, both Homura and Tatsumi are guilty of many many things, including murder (Homura, on a very large scale). So...they don't taste very yummy?

HEY what dvd did you get? I swear mine doesn't have that. Butomg, have you got the behing the scenes stuff where he's done up the Pale and he smiles? Freakishly cute. I capped it if you want a copy XD

As for innocence...

Kaoru - trouble maker and little devil, but a believer in purity. So he's... of an unbalanced purity? In general, he's not a bad kid though. he's just not nicey nice.

Robin Hood - the same, really. Strong belief in justice, but he still likes to have fun with it and see how far he can go. But ultimatley he's good.

Sheska - Innocent. XD

*whimper*

OKAY, SO. Light is terrifically not innocent in any way whatsoever, although I actually do think he is a virgin, but that doesn't really mean much when compared to all the... hundreds of people he's killed with the Death Note, including innocent cop types and so on. So he's safe unless he loses possession of the Death Note because HOLY CRAP, he used to be such a naive, harmless idiot.

Kadaj is tricky. I mean, he's obviously not innocent in that he's killed maaaaany people, tortured a few too, and is plotting to DESTROY ALL HUMANS, but the motivation behind it that isn't cruelty for cruelty's sake is pretty... I suppose you could say innocent. He just wants to make Jenova happy, and that... ehhh. I don't know. D: WHAT DO YOU THINK? I could go either way with this one. That whole thing is so NOT obvious when compared to the rest of his insanity, so he's probably not to the Pale Man's taste, but it's still... there. I DON'T KNOW.

AND I APOLOGIZE FOR ABUSING ELLIPSES IN THAT RESPONSE. *dies*

Oooookay! It's dark here now, and I am creeped out. :D

As for innocence... kinda but not really? He's 100% good, has very strong morals, and he's not actually as perverted as he seems, yeah. As far as actuals sins go, he hasn't committed all that many, and definitely nothing serious. But he has no problems deceiving people and doing generally illegal stuff, as long as no one gets hurt. And he's seen a lot things and he's definitely not naive.

[identity profile] forgot-it-all.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ritsuka [livejournal.com profile] forgot_it_all is screwed. COME EAT HIM, PALE MAN. He's jaded, but he's still very very innocent in many ways.

Okita [livejournal.com profile] notachick has killed a good number of people for a cause he believes in. I doubt he's to the Pale Man's tastes because he doesn't believe he is innocent AT ALL. He barely considers himself human for all the things he's done. 8D;

[identity profile] tsunagari.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, let's see...

Sai is a virgin, despite his comments on Naruto's manhood. (Yes, I believe this! Shush.) And he's kinda emotionless so he doesn't really have any hate for anyone. But he might have killed people while on missions. I really don't know. Your call.

Now if I do get Leon, like I hope, HE would be in serious trouble.

[identity profile] hajike-tobiume.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Well now... Momo is pretty darn innocent. She's always done her duty, has a warm good heart, never lies and generally likes people. Even if something pains her emotionally, she'll carry through with it if she thinks it's the right thing to do. The only things she's ever killed were hollows (evil bad spirits), though she did attack her childhood friend when she believed he had murdered her superior.

Do what you wish with that.

[identity profile] burningvigor.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, Sora would probably be the one out of my characters that Pale Man would fixate on - Guy, Roy, and Mal's hands are all stained. (And I'm dropping Darkwing soon, so let's not worry about that.) While Sora has killed people, he's still really, really pure and innocent about a lot of things. I'm pretty damn sure he'd qualify. XD

[identity profile] forgot-it-all.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, you're dropping Darkwing? ;o;

[identity profile] unmocked-lawr.livejournal.com 2007-06-01 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Javert could probably go either way. I guess he's innocent in the strictest sense of the word - utterly devoted to upholding the law, loyal, quite possibly a virgin. He's practically never done anything wrong intentionally in his life. The key word is intentionally, though, because he's done quite a lot of wrong - either inadvertently, or because of his by-the-book idea of justice.

So really, I guess it's your call. xD;
