Sorry this is going up late, I just got back from vacation last night! ANYWAY! Want a monster? Post here! Remember: Monster Mods choose the monster! Just leave the characters being attacked and a link to the thread!
And speaking of monsters....
Since we have a great deal of new people, I figured it's time again to post a few little reminders about the monsters we have running around here.
1) They are powerful. Even the small things, like rats and roaches, are tough and do a fair bit of damage when they land a bite/scratch/whatever. Remember to check the monster descriptions for what you're fighting, if you haven't encountered it before. It's extremely helpful!
2) Don't be afraid of your NPC mod! If you've got a question or don't understand anything, don't hesitate to ask. Every NPC mod leaves their name on the post, so you know exactly who to contact! We don't mind answering questions at all, and it makes threading go very smoothly! Smooth threads are love.
3) For the larger monsters (aquillas, necrits, Guardians, etc) these guys are
difficult to kill. I know it's cool to have your character be all badass, but these monsters are more on level with Big Bosses, to use video game lingo. ;) It doesn't matter what your character was or did when they were in their own canon, these critters are tougher and stronger than them. Remember, half the fun of this game is competent, tough, powerful characters suddenly not being tough and powerful. And when in doubt as to how tough a monster is...ask! We're all friendly here, and know it can be easy to get a little muddled up with all the various monsters running around.
4) This is in the rules, but I want to re-emphasize it here: if you think your monster is too strong, or vice versa (NPC mod feels that a character is too strong against a particular monster) please, please let a mod know. The point of RP is to have fun, and we all want to make sure that's what's going on. And we don't bite, I promise! At least, you know, without being asked. ;)
And that's about it for this friendly little reminder. Go forth, and enjoy the nightshift!
(Oh! And
lacidiana, email me please? I've been trying to grab you on messenger, but our schedules are just not matching up lately.)
