Okay, so. River has attacked a nurse and been sedated, and other people are joining in the fight.

Fox has noticed this, and is not going to sit out. In fact, he's going to attack the nearest staff member, because he's unstable right now too.

And I believe there are other people who are going to want to start fighting as well, so we may well have a large cafeteria riot on our hands, I know a good number of people like River and will jump in, and I have characters who will join in on the riot.

So this post is for us to figure out who all is going to jump into the fight and/or what conditions they will jump in. And to discuss what's going on.

Okay, hi. :D So, as some of you have noticed, there are plans for a riot to break out in the cafeteria. Since River started attacking nurses, a bunch of other characters will be joining in, and we know how the mob mentality goes, so...

Obviously this isn't very easy to organize from an OOC point of view, so this is what we've decided on. First of all, all characters will be staying in their current threads because we want to avoid huge threads of doom. Have them react to what's going on/join in with fighting the staff in their own thread.

Secondly, we are not going to be doing NPCing for this. There aren't enough NPC mods to cover everyone, so basically? You get to write it! Here are the rules for that.

1) Your character could maybe get through one to three nurses (by which I mean get a few good hits in on them, etc.) before they were swarmed with syringes.

2) No visible powers are allowed during the day. This is actually an official rule, though I'm not sure we actually ever made it really official. So patients are allowed to punch and kick and brawl, but there won't be magic and whatnot going on. Not-visible powers might be allowable, but... uhh, ask, I guess.

3) If enough patients start fighting, a ton more nurses and orderlies will come and swarm into the cafeteria, and any patient who is being aggressive will suddenly (inexplicably!) start to feel faint and eventually end up passing out.

4) Let me reiterate. If any of your characters are fighting, you will have to describe their fight with the nurses. (EX: "Sora stood from his seat and darted toward the nearest nurse, tossing a punch toward her chest. She reeled back in pain, but as he followed up with a kick, another one of the staff blindsided him, stabbing a needle into his arm.")

5) Please be reasonable about this. No godmodding and having your character knock out ten nurses, all right? I kind of already said this, but I want to be crystal clear.

6) Your patient doesn't have to start fighting, of course. Just have them notice what's going on and react in an IC fashion, whether that be joining the brawl or watching and facepalming at how stupid their fellow patients are. XD

So, what's going to happen after this, you ask? Basically, the institute will be put on lockdown and every patient will be taken back to their room. (If your character passes out, they'll wake up in their room.) We'll have a roommate shift while lockdown is going on. After that, the dayshift will continue, if a little wonky. (We're thinking that the adults will shower while the kids eat, and then switch, or something along those lines.)

To give you guys some time to get a few posts in, we're extending the breakfast shift one day. After that you can backthread if you really want. :3

Also, you must link to your thread here if you're planning for your character to start fighting. That way we can keep an eye on what's happening and make sure no one is overstepping their bounds.

EDIT: Just clarifying that yes, patients can move into other people's threads to fight, but you have to be in contact with the other players involved and there can only be so many people in each thread.

So I realized this morning that I'd be pretty busy between now and Friday, but I thought I could get away with just posting slowly. However, I am now figuring out that I'm really ill and even busier than I originally though. Sadly, this means it's time for a brief hiatus til the end of the week.
