I know, I know... we're barely to the end of the last app cycle. But I was thinking about a possible future character, and a question came up (well, more like an idea I'd want permission for before putting it in an application).
Some characters don't have control over their powers, or require a great deal of concentration to maintain control (or to even look human, in some cases). So, would they lose control as night fell? For example, Rogue of the X-men could probably touch people in the daytime, the same as vampires like Angel can walk around in the daylight, but at night if she might get some of her powers back, and stun or slightly drain anyone she touches.
But for a more dramatic effect, the character I'm thinking of is Clayface from the Batman cartoons - he can turn himself into a human form, either copying what he used to look like or even mimicking a different person entirely. But his natural form is a large, vaguely humanoid, mud-coloured blob. So, while he would of course retain his human form in the day, would he start to melt apart as night fell or would his powers only kick in when he wanted them to? For him, being able to stay human by default would be a dream come true, whether he could go T-1000 with his limbs. In canon, it's harder for him to keep his human shape than, say, turn his hand into a solid club. So which would constitute a "weakened" power?
And just as another hypothetical varation, there's Kevin 11 from Ben 10. One of the (many) ways his powers have manifested in the show is an uncontrolled transformation in to a large combination of 10 different creatures. It would be easier, and probably make more sense to take him from a different point, but it's another case where not only do his powers come with a downside (even if he's turned human again, his powers [the ones he absorbed] are what transformed him), but they are out of his control.
So, the general question is, I suppose, if a character has little control over their powers, or a downside they can't control at all, will they lose control when they get a small part of the power back?
