I would really like to at least briefly backthread Junior, Kaito, Shinichi and Shito for Shito's rescue thread, if at all possible. Sorry his MU took so long. :(

I think most of my other threads can be left as they are, except Arty's rescue thread which I already know Serey wants to backthread. But if anyone else really wants to backthread stuff with Leon, Subaru, Tokito or Chidori, I'm open to it. :)

Hey just posting for holy_experience since she's computer-less and all. She's sadly going to have to extend her hiatus for San (forestsdawn) because of extended personal stuff through... breakfast, maaaybe second shift. Maybe more depending on stuff that's going on.

OKAY GAIZ. It's time for another "tell me about your character" post! This time it's for people who will be coming into contact with Dr. Makiko Kisugi (so, patients/potential patients, fellow doctors, &c).

Dr. Kisugi has some happy fun special abilities and, uh, personality quirks, so I need to know two things from you:

1) How mentally "strong" is your character?

This can be strength of will or character or charisma, though you crazy telepath types could probably count that kind of mental strength as well. There is an entire spectrum of possibilities from "weak" to "strong" here, so just give me a general idea of where they'd fall on it.

Where they fall on said spectrum, though, will affect how Makiko reacts to the answer to Question #2.

2) What are your character's greatest fears and weaknesses?

Makiko can sense this kind of stuff by looking at people - what they're afraid of, what their weakest points are, etc - and likes to use them to mess with peoples' heads and manipulate them...if she feels like it.

Example: She sees someone and notices: "Hm, brown hair, blue eyes, terrified of confined spaces due to being trapped in one when younger." She wouldn't know the exact details of the cause of the fear - she'd know that the person had been trapped in a small space for some time, but wouldn't know what said space was or the circumstances around it or anything like that. Just the basic idea.

So yeah. If you would be so kind as to provide the info then she can really mess with your character's head, if you so desire. If you don't want her gleefully twisting the knives she sees in their psyche, let me know that as well.

If you have any questions or need clarification or whatever please ask. Confusing request is confusing. (Sorry for not posting with the character account, but, uh.)

EDIT: For clarification, it's not just what they're afraid of, but also what their weak points are. So even if a character doesn't have a particular fear or phobia, do they have any significant flaws in their personality? Basically, think something that could be used to really mess with their heads/upset them. (And if you do want your character messed with, the more detail, the better...)

My suck knows no bounds; I can't remember if I made any breakfast plans for Reno, since I plotted everything out over IM and I never wrote any of it down. Witness my genius: so epic, it's not even there. I thought I could just remember all this, but evidently, I overestimated the number of brain cells I possess.

...Anyway. Yes. I'm pretty sure Reno's meeting Schu for second shift and there's that Kio/Rude/Elena/Reno thing for fourth, buuuut I think that's it? Did I forget anything? I probably forgot something.

And uh, while I'm at it, Angel has Sora for lunch, Keman for breakfast, Y/N?

A few of you know of this already, but since it just happened and not everyone in the game frequents the OOC chat, I thought I'd make a lounge post in order to spread the word more efficiently. ^^

I recently took over maintaining the roleplay's calendar at a new URL. Hi everyone!

So, Artemis MU session has left him with a rather unique and wholly undesired ability. In his canon, those who possess magic/are magical creatures can hear what is known as the Magical Commune as the moon grows full. Unfortunately for Artemis, his system has been so saturated with magic, he can hear it almost all the time. This is where you guys come in!

If your character uses magic/has abilities that are classified as magic in their canon, they are a 'magical creature' in Artemis' canon. This means that Artemis can hear their Commune. What exactly does this consist of?

The Magical Commune is made up of emotional memories--not specific memories or thoughts. It is a general impression of the magical creature's history in noise-form. Singing, yelling, laughing, et cetera. So, for example, the fairy people in Artemis' canon were forced underground by humans (no, not a spoiler whatsoever. XD) and so their Commune is rather angry/sorrowful.

And so! If your character uses/used magic, I would very much appreciate it if you would comment here letting me know the overall tone of your character's Commune. The more specific the better. Artemis won't know why your character's Commune is the way it is (unless he asks, of course), but stronger emotional memories will form the basis of the Commune.


F.A.Q.:

What is not classified as Magic?

Anything that must be developed through bodily training (not mental training) is not classified as magic in Artemis' canon. Chi in Dragonball Z/GT/XQR/etc. is a good example of this.

What is classified as Magic?

If your character has an ability that does not require any channeling devices (i.e., Evokers in Persona) that they were born with/learned through study and not intense training, this is classified as magic, like the magic system in Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.

Does Kidou count?

Because Kidou can be used for healing and binding (two things that magic can do in Artemis' canon), Tia and I have figured out that it counts.

What about Persona 3?

Because the Persona people need a physical object in order to use their abilities (Evokers), they do not count. Anything that REQUIRES a physical object (i.e.: there is NO WAY anyone could use the ability without said prerequisite object that is solid and doesn't pop out of nowhere) does not count.

Nobodies?

Because Nobodies have both a power of darkness and another affinity (gravity, water, etc.), Nobodies have TWO Communes that overlap--the Darkness which is uniform to all Nobodies, and the affinity that is more personal to the Nobody.

But Serey, Nobodies don't have emotions! How can they have a Commune when they don't have emotions?

A Commune can also consist of memories and personality. Their Commune will be considerably quieter (i.e.: Zexion's sounds a lot like white noise), but they have one.

LET'S TALK NARUTO!

Chakra, because it is something that has to be honed and developed and skills learned to use it at all, does not count. However, inborn abilities where the user is automatically able to use the ability WITHOUT TRAINING count (i.e.: Haku's Kekkei Genkai).

Forget Naruto--DEVIL FRUITS!

Devil Fruits, because they give the eater/user physical attributes instead of being a mental-thing, do not count. :3

My character's powers resulted from a freak accident!

If said freak accident allowed them to instantaneously have access to abilities and powers without extensive training, they count. SEE SUPERHERO RULE.

SUPERHERO RULE:

If your character is a superhero and is NOT SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATED AS MAGICAL IN THEIR CANON, they are safe even if they qualify for the freak accident rule. The reason for this is because most of these superheros powers are physically based/require training to harness. If your superhero's powers are more mentally based, though (telepathy, talking to dolphins, whatever) we should talk it out.

My character's powers deal with the supernatural (ghosts, spirits, etc.).

If said power is mentally-based (i.e.: their power isn't slaying ghosts with vacuums or whatever), we should talk. :3

My character is a vampire.

Unless they are a MAGICAL vampire (i.e.: they can perform magic from birth/vampiredom), they don't count. Simply being a vampire does not make you magical in Artemis' canon.


I know this is confusing guys, and I'm really sorry for it. D: But as this progresses, things get a little easier...? 8D

My class schedule this semester is pretty awkward, and it's going to affect my posting, so I figured I should post a warning to that effect.

Tuesday I've got class from 8:30-10:45 PM, and it's an hour-long commute. But the kicker is that on Wednesday my first class is at 10:30 AM, so I need to hit the hay pretty much as soon as I get home on Tuesday. And I have class until 8:15 or 10:15 PM on Wednesday, depending on whether it's a lab week or a tutorial week. Thursdays I have off, though, so at least on Wednesday I don't need to crash as soon as I get home.

Short version? Minimal posting (like, one post per character) from me on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Edit: Four characters posted to breakfast (including the three who had appointments), will try to do the other three when I get home.

Edit 2: Screw it, the other three (Farf, Shito and Tokito) are just going to have to wait until tomorrow. *crawls off to bed* z.z

So, all the inactivity stuff is finally taken care of, and so the community has gone through a pretty major purge. (I guess that's what happens when you don't check activity for half a year. XD;;) Anyway, sorry I didn't get it done before the app period. D: But roommates will be shuffled around before nightshift, so sit tight.

Also, that means that the M-U vs. SC Preference List has been cleaned up, but as I was editing it, I started getting paranoid that some players weren't on there. So if you haven't gotten SC or M-U for any of your characters yet, check and make sure you're on it if you can? It's in your best interest to check since you won't be included in the randomization pool if you aren't on there. D: Oh, and the pending people will go into the normal lists once the characters accepted from this cycle come in.

As promised, here is a reminder to VOTE IN THE DOCTOR POLLS. They will be open until Friday night or so, but don't forget!

Lastly, if there's some reason that you need to specify when your therapy shift happens, comment here and let me know. Please only do it if it's absolutely necessary, though, since it becomes harder and harder to schedule things if everyone wants something specific. D:
