Now, for how NPC monster modding works! Basically, Fey has divided the maps up into sections (first floor here, second floor here). Each NPC mod is in charge of a particular section.

That means that when you make a request, you'll pretty much know which NPC mod will be taking care of it. The NPC mods can track this post and keep an eye out for when there are any requests that are in their area and then get to it. (Also, this way if there's a delay in getting your request filled, you know who you can contact about it.) Of course, a NPC mod could always ask one of the others to pinch hit for them if they're busy, on hiatus, etc.

WE'RE CHANGING THINGS AROUND ONCE MORE: We want to try out a system where each NPC mod makes a comment with THEIR NAME in the subject line, and then people will respond directly to that comment when they need a monster. In other words, if I wanted to be attacked by a monster in the Courtyard, I would reply to Tiassa's comment with the request. We think NPC mods might be able to keep track of when they're needed easier that way. In the event that you need an NPC mod in an unassigned area (outside the institute, the basement, etc.), there will be a specific thread for those places that you can respond to (and any mod will be able to pick those requests up).

There will be a three-day waiting period for NPC mod requests. In other words, if you wait three days and still don't get a monster, then you can feel guilt-free about contacting the NPC mod and asking them about it. At that point, the NPC mod must decide if they are going to do it. If they are unable, it's their responsibility to find another NPC mod to handle the request for them.

This should also make it easier for the NPC mods to watch their area and send out random attacks, so stay sharp! 8)

As for the outside areas and the basement, those requests can still be handled by any of us! And that's about all! Hope this makes this process a little more efficient. :3 Credit goes to Fey (and possibly some others?) for the idea.

This is where you comment with any alerts that other players should be aware of. Your character knocks down a certain door? Comment here so that there isn't confusion with people trying to open doors that have already been taken care of. Your character raids a supply closet? Note here what was taken so that anyone else heading that way knows what they have left to choose from. Part of the building gets blown up? You better let us know!

Also, if something particularly noteworthy is going on a specific room, feel free to mention it as well. Let's say your character is in the middle of torturing another character in the 2nd floor kitchen. It would be a little weird for a group to bypass that while looking for supplies, so... yes! This is just a simple way for us all to stay informed about the out of the ordinary things that might be going on during any given night.

Basically, just respond here with the appropriate location in the subject line (if applicable, since that's not as easy to do when it's a lock-breaking), and... yes! We did something similar to this during the zombie event, so check that out for reference.

I know everyone's busy with NS, but could we get a nurse in this backthread over here? Dean's gotten kind of fisty (not to make it sound like a porno ) and halp is needed.

Just a general heads up that, after this weekend, I'll be on massive slow posting/slowatus for the remainder of nightshift (and possibly breakfast shift) because I have to study for an upcoming test week and do some extra assignments I have to hand in then as well.

This should...only affect the people in a thread with Scar as Xemnas doesn't have any threadmates, but I figured I'd post here for good measure. I'm not sure if I continue to move Xemnas during this NS since he already got what he needed, buuut I'll see how busy I am. To those threading with Scar; let me know if it becomes a problem so we can try and find a solution.

I'm afraid the slow posting (or slowatus) will also continue for backthreads that would still continue after this weekend. Perhaps more so because of NS tags.

Hey guys, let's get this party started. \o/

Soooo yeah, the intercom post that you should read before going through this post explains a lot of it already, but to clarify.

The lights are flickering and being generally creepy! The patient rooms have a more constant light source, but they might go out for a second or two every now and then if you'd like. Certain patients are going to start feeling like their shadow isn't quite moving with them the way it should, or distorting weirdly, with branches going out and in, etc. -- for now, only out of the corner of their eye.

The people who are affected are as follows:

a) Anyone who's consciously killed/maimed someone. That is, it wasn't an accident. They knew what they were doing and they intended for it to happen, regardless of why they were doing it.

b) Anyone who's stolen something really important; the act of thievery has to have caused a lot of hardship for a lot of people, so it can't just be an exciting museum heist or something like that. For example, stealing a shipment of medicine going to a town suffering from an epidemic.

c) Anyone who's lied about something with horrible repercussions on others as a result. For example, giving incorrect military information and causing the defeat of a platoon. If you're unsure if the lie is severe enough, ask us, since this one is probably the most difficult to judge.

d) Anyone who's betrayed or double-crossed someone, whether it's a friend/business partner/etc. Basically, someone who trusted them deeply and who they consciously screwed over/let down for their own gain/benefit. This also goes for cheating in a romantic sense, on a spouse/significant other, if it caused a great deal of pain to their partner.

At this point, only the shadow-caster can perceive the distortion of their own shadow, so if they try to draw attention to their threadmates, they won't see anything out of the ordinary.

As always, let us know if you have any questions or need something clarified, and be sure to read both this post and the intercom post carefully. And, as the subject line says, this is STAGE ONE of the event. The event will progress as the night goes on, so make sure to watch the lounge and the main comm accordingly!

I'm in the middle of midterms and applying for graduate school, and I just don't think I can brain enough to play a genius right now. So...I'm going to be putting Shinichi on hiatus for Nightshift, but I will continue to post in backthreads. He'll just be in his room, resting.

Kenshin's going to stay out and active and all that jazz. He needs to get nice and traumatized. :D
