Faye's on vacation and her computer's giving her crap (not loading, spinning wheel of death, etc.) so she'll be on hiatus till she can get home to fix it.

This effects:

ACTIVITY CHECK.

REPLYING TO THIS POST IS ABSOLUTELY MANDATORY FOR ALL PLAYERS. FAILURE TO REPLY TO THIS POST, REGARDLESS OF CURRENT ACTIVITY, WILL RESULT IN AN INACTIVITY STRIKE.

The only people excused from participating in this Activity Check are players who are already listed as being on hiatus here (or who have already made a hiatus announcement to the lounge). However, if a player comes back from hiatus during the course of the Activity Check, or if only a portion of a player's characters are listed as on hiatus, they must still comment. Newly-accepted characters are also not required to reply. Newly-accepted will count as within two weeks, unless it's a situation where you're waiting until dayshift to post them, etc.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

1. Go find the latest posts made to [community profile] damned_institute by your character(s) before this Activity Check post was made.
(Both [community profile] damned_institute and [community profile] damned_lounge should show your own personal local timezone as the time stamps, as far as I understand; let me know if there's any problem/confusion regarding the time differences.)

2. Get the links for each of those threads, as well as the day/location/shift that they took place in.
(Click "thread" at the bottom of your character's most recent RP post (NOT the beginning of the current thread itself) or "link" in the header of the comment; then, copy-paste the URL.)

3. Comment to this entry with the form below.
(Don't include the "[ ]" brackets in the actual comment, please. By "mm/dd/yy," we mean month/day/year of that character's most recent post. Please add "(backthreading)" in parenthesis after a character's activity info if it applies.)

Name/Handle:
Timezone:
Personal Journal: [profile] _username_here

[Character 1 name here], [profile] _username_here: Day/Night #: [location/shift here] - mm/dd/yy
[Character 2 name here], [profile] _username_here: Day/Night #: [location/shift here] - mm/dd/yy
[Character 3 name here], [profile] _username_here: Day/Night #: [location/shift here] - mm/dd/yy

Comments/Questions: (if you have any)

If you're still confused at all about how to fill out the form, please refer to the comments below.

More information on what constitutes inactivity and what the consequences of it are. )

If any otherwise active players happen to get caught by this particular Activity Check, we're sorry for the bad luck and we hope you'll make sure to announce your hiatus next time so that we won't have to catch you in our next one. After all, the reason we have these checks is to not make you guys pull your hair out but to instead ensure a healthy, active playing environment for everyone.

TO MAKE SURE NO ONE ACCIDENTALLY MISSES THIS POST, WE'LL BE MAKING REMINDERS FOR YOU GUYS TO REPLY TO IT THROUGHOUT THE WEEK. Sorry for both the hassle and for the long delay between checks, and thanks for your cooperation!

This is where you comment with any alerts that other players should be aware of. Your character knocks down a certain door? Comment here so that there isn't confusion with people trying to open doors that have already been taken care of. Your character raids a supply closet? Note here what was taken so that anyone else heading that way knows what they have left to choose from. Part of the building gets blown up? You better let us know!

Also, if something particularly noteworthy is going on a specific room, feel free to mention it as well. Let's say your character is in the middle of torturing another character in the 2nd floor kitchen. It would be a little weird for a group to bypass that while looking for supplies, so... yes! This is just a simple way for us all to stay informed about the out of the ordinary things that might be going on during any given night.

Basically, just respond here with the appropriate location in the subject line (if applicable, since that's not as easy to do when it's a lock-breaking), and... yes!

Thanks, and enjoy this nightshift!

Request your monsters here!

IMPORTANT NOTE: There will be new sections added to the form for the purposes of the military arc (and beyond that, possibly, if we keep the pin system). Make sure to read carefully when putting in a request.

Example:
Characters: Nagasawa Shiina, Sonia Hedgehog
Location: Staff Research/Medical Reference Library [link here]
Would you like to try for a monster pin?: (Answer yes or no.)
If yes, list what pins each character already has and what weapons/equipment each has:

Now, for how NPC monster modding works! Basically, the maps has been divided up into sections and coded (first floor here, second floor here). Each NPC mod is in charge of a particular section.

That means that when you make a request, you'll pretty much know which NPC mod will be taking care of it. The NPC mods can track this post and keep an eye out for when there are any requests that are in their area and then get to it. (Also, this way if there's a delay in getting your request filled, you know who you can contact about it.) Of course, a NPC mod could always ask one of the others to pinch hit for them if they're busy, on hiatus, etc.

Each NPC mod will reply here with a comment with THEIR NAME in the subject line, and then people will respond directly to that comment when they need a monster. In other words, if I wanted to be attacked by a monster in the Courtyard, I would reply to Tiassa's comment with the request. We think NPC mods might be able to keep track of when they're needed easier that way. In the event that you need an NPC mod in an unassigned area (outside the institute, the basement, etc.), there will be a specific thread for those places that you can respond to (and any mod will be able to pick those requests up).

There will be a three-day waiting period for NPC mod requests. In other words, if you wait three days and still don't get a monster, then you can feel guilt-free about contacting the NPC mod and asking them about it. At that point, the NPC mod must decide if they are going to do it. If they are unable, it's their responsibility to find another NPC mod to handle the request for them.

This should also make it easier for the NPC mods to watch their area and send out random attacks, so stay sharp! 8)

The area assignments can be seen here, or if this is easier:

First Floor
Green - Court
Yellow - Claire
Light Blue - Eryn
Purple - Jansen
Pink - Court
Dark Blue - Jansen

Second Floor
Pink - Sarah
Teal - Claire
Tan - Kristyn
Orange - Sarah
Green - Pazu
Blue - Pazu

As for the outside areas and the basement, those requests can still be handled by any of us! And that's about all! Hope this makes this process a little more efficient.
