Hey, just letting you guys know that I'll be making the Nightshift intercom post tomorrow night instead of tonight, since... it's really late and my brain is totally fried from setting up the Wiki and making that update post. DX;; (Plus, M-U people will have a little more time to get their plans ready, and I'll have a chance to put an official M-U section in damned_info.) Also: The Landel's Damned Wiki is now open and free for all members of the comm to contribute. :3 Just apply to be a writer, and in the text box that asks WHY YOU WANT TO CONTRIBUTE OMG just put down who you play over here so we can keep everything straight. Your character wakes up in the white room of a mental hospital, their items taken, their powers dampened, and their clothes replaced with a strange grey uniform. A nurse comes in and tells them that their entire life is the product of insanity, a fabrication of their imagination.

However, hushed conversations with other patients soon make it clear that to believe such a claim would be idiocy, and that Landel's Institute resides far from the realm of normalcy that it so zealously advocates for. The days--with kind nurses, friendly announcements, and activities for patients to participate in--disguise a sinister side that remains clear to those entrapped by it even as its purpose remains a mystery.

The sinister side manifests as a dangerous reality when the lights go out. The doors unlock and the patients find themselves faced with nighttime incarnations of daytime entities: Animals grow in size and acquire a taste for blood, nurses become hideous abominations that attack unruly patients, and the man on the intercom reveals his true nature as a sadistic ringmaster who taunts those who would dare mock his power.

It is under these conditions that your character must do whatever it takes to survive. Fight monsters. Look for items. Make alliances. Break alliances. Make enemies, and perhaps attempt to break those as well.

The patients of Landel's aren't insane.

But at this rate, they will be.

As someone who's never contributed to a wiki before, I was wondering if anyone would be available to explain things to me. This is kinda important since I have Dias, who as the sole representative of his fandom means I'll get to type up all sorts of info about his world on top of his own character information. I say this like it's an obligation, when I know it's not, BUT I MUST DO IT. Besides, his fandom's obscure enough that people need as much reference as I can provide!

Then there's Schuldig and Zell, whose fandoms I am not alone in representing, which means that Yohji- and Squall-mun and I get to coordinate in terms of fandom info, and I'm not sure how that will work but it'll probably go a lot smoother if I have some idea of what I'm doing. 8D

Anyway, all that said - what are people actually looking for on the wiki? Fandom info seems pretty obvious - details about the world of the fandom and perhaps a quick summary of the storyline. And character information is also a no-brainer; personally that I'm especially looking forward to, as the lack of character profiles to reference is probably the only thing I've ever found lacking in Landel's. It's especially sucky when you play a telepath who's supposed to know a lot more about the characters he speaks with than I do. IRONICALLY I HAVE BEEN USING WIKIPEDIA TO LOOK THAT INFORMATION UP. Monster and staff information also makes plenty of sense, and most of that can probably just be quickly c/ped into the wiki. But I'm wondering what, if anything else, the mods are specifically planning on implementing, and I bet a lot of players have cool suggestions, so I'm curious. Personally, I have a very vague idea for a reference of which characters are allies or enemies(or, in Schu and Yohji's case, both simultaneously), although I have no idea how that would work or if it'd really be useful enough to bother with.
