Hey all, Eryn here! Just letting everyone know that I will soon be introducing my newest character to Damned: Scott Pilgrim!

Okay, I know he's not that well-known in this circle of the internet (he's big in the indie comics scene, I swear!). XD;; Regardless, I have an alert to post regarding him. Scott is a character whose canon is set very specifically on 2005 Earth (for the most part, certain rules about physics aside), and a majority of the media titles there are the same there as they are in the real world. On top of that, Scott is a pretty big geek, so he knows the canons of quite a few of the various fandoms that tend to pop up in panfandom games like this. You know what that means: potential canon puncturing. So here is the note I made about potential fourth wall stuff that I submitted with Scott's character application:

Scott Pilgrim is a character who could very easily break the fourth wall for certain other characters in Damned, most notably our pre-2005 video game-based characters. I am going to be very careful about canon puncturing, and won't ever use Scott's knowledge for nefarious purposes. I will always ask first when potentially canon puncturing.

At the moment, Scott is only canonically familiar with two specific fandoms currently at Landel's: Final Fantasy and X-Men. Here is a list of other fandoms currently in Landel's that he could conceivably be familiar with to varying degrees, but haven't been mentioned specifically in canon. It's definitely okay to ask for him to not have knowledge of any given title on this list for the sake of those who would rather not have any fourth wall breakage:

If your character is from Final Fantasy or X-Men, please comment to this post and let me know what you want in terms of puncturing. Let me know whether you prefer a little, a lot, or Scott conveniently avoiding your character until he gets it in his head that he probably shouldn't go around telling people that they're fictional.

If your character is from any of the titles mentioned on the list, please comment to this post and let me know if you want puncturing or not. If you don't mind puncturing, tell me how much you're okay with. If you do mind, then I will cross your series title off this list and mark it down as something that Scott conveniently hasn't gotten around to yet. If I get conflicting answers from different characters within the same series, we can work something more specific out.

If your character's series is not on the list (and it might not be if you're new, as I don't know how many new series came up this past round of apps), but you think it ought to be, post it here and we'll talk.

First off, we want to give new players a heads-up that if you have any questions at all, feel free to ask them here! Also, we totally screwed up with not having this up ahead of time, so we apologize to the people waiting and also to those who have already posted due to our lack of directions (the latter can keep on posting, so no worries about deleting posts or retconning or anything!)

We're getting there, guys! Now that Court's home, we should be moving along a whole lot more smoothly. <3

But I'm dropping out of damned. I hoped that reducing my character roster would help, and it did... but not enough. And then I hoped that a hiatus would help, and it didn't. So, much as I hate to, I need to finally just bite the bullet and let my characters here go.

I've already emailed the muns who play people my remaining characters are especially close to, and mentioned this in my personal journal, so this is pretty much the Official Anouncement, and not really... news.

I'm not back to posting at all until Tuesday, but I figured I should get this up for coordination purposes and such.

I will be around for dayshift, so if you want to get in last interactions with Leon Magnus, Subaru, Frey or Chidori, lemme know. Obviously some of their few remaining shifts are reserved for castmates, but I shall do my best to fit in anyone who wants to say goodbye.

Jansen: Backthreading NS, y/n? Sorry for not responding sooner. I fail like that.

I'm not sure what to do with Asch first shift, so even if we don't backthread, I'd like to figure out what the last thing Asch and Apollo were doing was, so I'll have somewhere to go.

Adam and Knight: I'm also up for backthreading NS with you guys if you would like to.

Kaze and Shira; Hey uh, I was wondering if you'd mind backthreading the Crossroader's Bar thread for a short while. Court and Zalia (and Rini and Callie too maybe idk): I know Court's currently in recovery-mode, so I wasn't sure what people thought of backthreading. Since NS's already over and Callie seems to have her hands full with allergies and adorable baby animals, it doesn't sound like the Celes and Dias meet-up is all that feasible. If that's the case, maybe the three of us should go one or two more rounds before wrapping things up? I'M NOT SURE LOL. (also, did anyone want to get bitten still? >D)

Fureya and Kiarae: Are we still backthreading the Chise/Kuro/Luffy stuff or what? Just wondering what to do with Luffy now that dayshift's started, so if we could clear that up, that'd be jawesome. ♥

Okay, so I have this exam on Thursday that I haven't done any of the reading for, and I haven't done anything for the last couple days, so, um. I need to get off the Internet, buckle down and read like a reading machine that reads a lot. SORRY GIEZ. I'll be around, just kinda slow, especially with all the stuff on the bulletin. So, Recluse is teaching Lugnut that no, he doesn't know how to fight. There is now yelling, swearing, and need for a nurse to keep Lugnut from breaking anything else while attacking Recluse. :B

People in the Sheriff's Office and Kaze: There seem to still be two groups in there (Statesman, Recluse, Sokka, Tobias, Depth Charge, Scourge, Javert annnnd Xigbar and ZEX) and characters in both of them are after guns, it seems? Harvey and Fran are about to enter the office and Harvey's also looking for a gun, so I'm not sure how we want to coordinate this. So far a gun has been taken from the sheriff's corpse and one rifle and one handgun have been taken from the now-open armory, so! DX Can we coordinate, please?

Callie, Kristyn: We're not backthreading, right? I know you're busy, Callie, so I think it's okay to leave it.

Jansen, Zalia: I think we're going for a bit longer? 8D

Maia, Ema: I'll get posting ASAP! We need to at least get through the rescue.

And now, it's that time of the year week again!

VISITORS.

If you want your character to get a visitor (a family/friend from their "real" life who looks/acts nearly identically to someone from their canon who isn't already at Landel's) during 3rd or 4th shift, fill out the poll below. (The visitor can also be a "rehabilitated" character who was previously at Landel's.)

The guidelines are simple:
You can only have one of your characters get visited; if you've had a particular character get visited before, you can have a different one do it this time if you want, and if you do choose to stick with the same character, you may have them visited by the same visitor as before or a different one. You may also choose for your character to get a small group of visitors, but only if the NPC mod would be able to realistically handle it; multiple characters sharing one visitor at the same time is okay too.

Remember, characters who have just been introduced from this most recent app cycle cannot get a visitor. :( Sorry!
