Basically, it works like this. Ever talk to a fellow Damned player in IM/chat or RP with them and think they're really neat, but you've never gotten the chance to ask if they want to friend with you? Well, here's your chance. Just respond to this post with your personal LJ username and the characters you play at Landel's Damned. Then, other people who might want to be your friend can comment like "FRIEND ME PLZ?" and everyone gets to be happy and friendly and cool.

Of course, this isn't mandatory. If you don't want a ton of people requesting to be your friend, then simply don't comment. It's as simple as that. I know not everyone is completely and utterly social -- so it's cool, man, it's cool.

And because we all like to squee, this is the meme to say who you're apping, or who you're thinking of apping, or who you're deciding between. Of course, you don't have to join in unless you're Allie, but it's a great deal of fun, and helps break the ice with the current players, I think?

And yes, current players and potential newbies are all welcome!

So, how it works. Post a picture or two of the character(s) you've got your eye on. Try to keep them small, though, since we don't want to break people's connections. And if there are no pictures, then no worries. Just post a name. The point is to have fun and flail a lot. You also might have offers for souls, betas, and pie, so it's well worth it.

A pretty simple meme. Post a name and/or a picture, along with reasons why your character(s) of choice should be apped. Also bribes; pie is a very in demand item. Try to keep pictures small though, for those on slower connections or cell phones (aka me) or what not.

And remember, no pressure (aside from the positive top-you-into-apping kind), and this isn't the official character request list. Just a way to have fun and shamelessly beg at the same time.

It's that time we all know and love again. In fact, it's a little late. Yet chat didn't eat me. Everyone should be amazed.

Since there are less than two weeks left until apps, and everyone needs the reminder that oh crap, LESS THAN TWO WEEKS UNTIL APPS, it's time for everyone's favorite meme:

Or who are you still deciding between, since I know people are still trying to pick. Mostly it's a chance for us to squee with each other, and also offer moral support, encouragement, and human souls. (And if you app one of the guys in the icon? You will indeed get souls.)

To have a little fun with it, if possible, post a picture of your character instead of giving the name. I know it's not always possible, but don't feel left out! Book characters are love too! Try and keep the images small though, for people with slower connections. No more than 300x300 would be ideal. You can also give a factoid or too, and relish the fact that no, you are not alone in this apping cycle of doom. Others are there with you.

Due to finding the concept rather incredibly interesting, and personally being a bit bored, I has a meme.

What would your character(s) do if they broke out of Landel's, and found themselves stuck in 1990s-ish New Jersey?
- Alternatively, they're "cured" of their delusions and are released instead of escaping
- Assume their powers are restrained as they are in the institute

Just because I'm really curious, let's play a game called:

Six Degrees of River Tam

Yes, totally based on the same concept as the Kevin Bacon version.* The idea is to, through ic connections, link any of your characters to River Tam by the quickest way possible in six 'steps' or less. Here's some examples:

Homura and Ururu both have directly spoken to River Tam. Ururu even had naked bonding time with her. (One step each)
Sanosuke has spoken to Homura through the bulletin, who has directly spoken to River Tam. (Two steps)
Hiei spends lots of time cuddling with Kurikara, who has been fawned over by various shinigami, who frequently talk to Renji, who is very overprotective of River Tam. (Four steps).

Simple enough, right? And why River Tam? Because I liked the way it sounded. And there are several ways to find a trail, obviously, so have fun with it.


How do you know Tad's played too many aquila? When she types "virgin" instead of "version".

DAMNED IC SECRETS MEME

We're going to test this out and see if it takes. >> If it's popular, we can do a monthly secret thing! It's easy. Well it looks like it took. XDD

Create a secret and post it in a comment to this entry using the damned_secrets account. The password is in the first entry, and should be visible to most of the comm through whichever character journal I've friended. If you're not friended by that account, drop a comment with one of your character journals and I'll screen the password to you. damned_secrets is ONLY for the initial secret post.

Secrets can be in picture or text form, but pictures are more fun and highly encouraged. For reference to what a secret should look like, check out ic_secrets. Yes, crappy ms paint secrets are very welcome.

We're not using the form IC Secrets has, so feel free to reply to each other via comments.

DA RULES (ganked, much like the concept):

1. All secrets must be IN CHARACTER. As if your CHARACTER is posting the secret. Equally, all responses to secrets should ALSO be in character, in CHARACTER JOURNALS, not personal ones. SECRETS CAN BE ABOUT ANYTHING AS LONG AS IT IS SOMETHING YOUR CHARACTER WOULD SUBMIT. Their relationships, family, lives, situations, whatever you w;lakd;laskdaslkd whatever you want.

While I don't think this will be a problem, if there are any references to other players, know that they will be deleted immediately along with the meme. Seriously, no wank plz. :<

2. Secrets MUST be written from damned canon. No exceptions. However, since this is a fun thing, characters who have been dropped may post and respond to secrets. Characters who have not been accepted may not post or respond to secrets.

Example: Kyon: "Jack Worthing" It's the main character from The Importance of Being Ernest by Oscar Wilde. It's a play I read recently while I was apping him, and I thought it was funny how both him and Kyon live a sort of double life in their canon. That and Jack is a variation of "John" which is Kyon's alias when he travels to the past.

DISCLAIMER: Of course, I'm not actually telling you all to go out and get drunk or whatevs; this is purely for fun and lulz. And if you really want to play it with alcohol? Well, have fun and don't chose something hard as your drink of choice.

Basically, if you haven't figured it out already, everyone who wants to contribute will post something that happens frequently at damned or just in the OOC community along with a number of drinks to take.

Example 1: Take a drink every time Tad posts a meme.
Example 2: Take 2 drinks every time Schuldig badtouches Yohji in the shower.

Simple, right? If you don't understand, let me know; I'll attempt to clarify.

2. Sorry for being vacant, people who I am posting with. I got a new bookshelf, so it distracted me. Yes, being serious here.

3. All your characters get stuck in a small, dark room. They have no idea how long they'll be stuck together, and they cannot get out. What happens? Who comes out alive and with their virginity in tact?

Alternately, all of your canonmates get stuck in this scenario. Since a bunch of people only have one character.

We were talking in OOC chat about the patient possessions room, and what would be in people's boxes there.

For example, Tamaki's box would contain his school uniform, school bag (with a flowery shoujo manga inside) and a dozen roses for effect. Edgeworth's box would contain his suit, 2 or 3 cravats, fancy shoes, two bottles of BPAL's Dorian perfume oil, and fancy designer underwear. XD;
